There have been reports on people onboard in other threads.  If they don't reply here you need to read a little more widely.

Some are replying.    I have and do "read a little more widely"  but I think this board is a logical place that people would look for current experieinces.  If people want to post extensively about an individual trip, more power to them- I follow and enjoy.   But many posters just want to make a single or few comments.   And, I think we all can benefit from them now...

It may be a logical thread for reading current experiences; it's not a logical thread for posting experiences. If I wanted to post something about my current cruise, I'd do it in the roll call or a Live From thread if there was one. I wouldn't think to look for a thread called "Anybody onboard, currently?"

hi Kevin.  I am the original poster.  You can see it was started back in 2021, after we all were getting back to cruising post Covid.  It was quite popular and the thread was “pinned” for quite awhile.  This thread has over 2.6 k replies!  It was really nice because people were posting regularly on this thread.  Then it was “unpinned” and has not been used much at all lately.

Maybe, given current circumstances, it would be a good idea for it to be pinned again.

It's a great thread, and it was a great source of information on how things changed or didn't change after return to sail. 2,600 posts are a testament to its value. In 2023, there have only been about 100 posts. Perhaps, it's because it was unpinned. It may be that 2,600 posts is too long and many new readers can't be bothered going through dozens of pages to find pertinent information. Many of the postings aren't relevant any longer as cruising has returned to "normal" and many of us have cruised numerous times since 2021.

Pinning this thread might help, but it's still too long. Perhaps pinning a new thread each year or every six months might be better. This way the threads will be shorter and information will be much more recent.

Thanks,

Kevin

Perhaps. I posted a thought about the length being too long and information no longer relevant. Another idea would be to split the thread into years or some other shorter period, like "Anyone on board currently (Jan to Jun 2023)".

The information in the thread is valuable. It would be helpful if the "currently" was really current.

JMHO,

Currently aboard Azamara Quest, tied up for the second day of two in the port Safaga, Eygpt, on the Red Sea.  Captain Johannes Tysee and his people are doing a marvelous job of keeping us happy, well-fed, and active (if we choose).  The staff are the friendliest people, as they have been in the past.  Food is very good, complimentary wines are modest but very drinkable Australian and NZ blends.  There are about 680 persons on board, the majority being Australian, then US, then UK, then NZ and Canada.  The Patio is open for almost all meals, very enjoyable in this latitude.  Entertainment is by the Signature Singers & Dancers, augmented by specialists who rotate on and off at each port, providing diversity.  This 23-day cruise started in Singpore, then Sri Lanka, India, Egypt today, followed by Jordan, Israel, Crete, and disembarking in Athens.  We're having a fine time but have probably gained weight.

Thanks 😊 We will be getting on as you leave!

Just boarded Azamara Journey in Barcelona which was very efficient even without docs an tags. Luggage was tagged upon arrival and whole process took less then 15 minutes. We are in a Club Continent Cub Suite this cruise.

Ship looks great, cheerful crew and we are looking forward to night’s fresh seafood buffet extravaganza. One change was there was no muster drill brief upon embarking. We are to report to Discoveries for a Muster Drill at 5:00.

We have been told there are only 500 guest on board.

Barcelona was really bustling with the Spanish Gran Prix weekend a a couple of large concerts.

Looking forward to our Spain Intensive followed by a France Intensive.

Ahoy! Life is good.🛳🍾

We will be joining you in Bordeaux on June 17th for the 11 day cruise on the Journey.   That seafood buffet sounds nice.   Hope we get to enjoy it as well when we board.  Enjoy yourself and take good care of the Journey for us,

Last night’s seafood extravaganza on Journey was well,  extravagant!

Oysters the night before in Barcelona were $6 Euro each. Fresh Sea Bream delicious as well as entire offering.

Sure looks good.  I will be there soon!   Thanks for posting.   I particularly like the gelato bar.

Can you tell us who the CD, Hotel Manager, and Captain are on Journey currently?  We board in Amsterdam in at the end of the month for the Iceland Intensive. The Spain intensive is also high on our list, so looking forward to following along!  Have a wonderful time!

Azamara used to have these seafood buffets regularly on embarkation.  I am so happy to see this return and hope we see it on Pursuit when we embark soon for Ireland Intensive cruise!!

For those of you currently onboard any of the Azamara ships……did you see a Cruise Critic meet and greet listed in daily program?  If so, where and when?  first day?

I was on Pursuit for an Instanbul to Athens cruise at the beginning of May and we had a C.C. meet and mingle in the Drawing Room (Library).  We overnighted in Istanbul on embarkation day and sailed the following day and I believe it was held about an hour after departure.  It was listed in the Insider (daily event program).

Thank you Paul 😀

I am not sure when ours might be.  On embarkation, we are overnight in Dublin and then do not sail until 10 pm the next evening.
