I thought people with a medical exemption could sail?

I also thought because some venues are vax only, if some people in your party are not, you are considered non vaccinated, and can’t frequent vax only venues. Might have that wrong tho 😂

I can definitely see families with unvaxxed kids...but not sure why pax with serious medical problems feel the need to cruise.  As far as I know...cruising is a want...not a need.   IMHO...I wouldn't want to take a chance with my health if I already had medical problems?  Or perhaps that is just me.  😳

Thanks for the info, our cruise is JAn 9 and still did not hear about it is that right?

Most reporting suggests most wins come in the week before sailing. The denial comes the night before sailing, most of the time.

Yes, on our recent successful RoyalUps, the emails came 5-7 days prior to the sailing which makes it easier for all involved.

The Loyalty Ambassadors mentioned they prefer the advanced cabin reassignment to avoid re-issuing CAS notices and rerouting the amenities, a constant loyalist complaint.

The site won't let you bid until you have 30 days or less before sailing. So you still have a little while to wait before you either get the email or try logging into the RoyalUp site. Right now you'll probably get an error message that says  'Please ensure your sailing is within the next 30 days'

That error is displayed for a number of reasons, but being more than 30 days out is the least likely reason you can’t bid. Bidding may be available just about any time inside 90 days to go.

I seem to have developed an obsession with sailing on Odyssey between this review, a few others I’ve read, and some local friends who absolutely loved the ship! I’m off to search sail dates so I’ll know what sailing I want to book while we’re on board Independence in 11 days! Hope DH doesn’t go into shock when I drag him to the Next Cruise desk on Indy! 😂🛳

I am going on the Odyssey in March.  At the risk of sounding nosy do you mind telling me how much you bid for your jr. suite?  It seems so tempting.   I'm just afraid I'll give up my decent balcony view (7532) and get an obstructed view.

We are on the Odyssey on March 12 doing the 8 day!

I finally called and they said we will get notices to bid on Dec. 9 or 10.  Thanks for the help!

I would not count on that. Check with others in the Roll Call thread to see if they have received invites or if they can bid. Check the site every couple of days. Realistically it doesn't seem to matter when you bid and most wins seem to come in the week before sailing.

I thought medical exemptions were primarily for people with some known allergies. Frankly, if I was unable to be vaccinated because of an allergy, a cruise is probably the safest vacation! 😂 most vaccinated, and all tested prior to boarding. Probably safer than your grocery store.

Time to wrap up..🤗 ....A few final thoughts, tips,  on this sailing.....

- the cabin “technology” updates are sweet

- the jr. suite split bathroom is plus. Only downside is the entry the doors for the split bathroom are directly across from each other, and when opened, not only hit each other, but  block the entrance  to the cabin.

- this sailing didn’t feel “reduced  capacity”... in fact, I can’t imagine what it would feel like with another 2000 pax.....it felt congested at times. I think this is somewhat related to the ships layout, and the fact that 1/2 the tables in almost every venue we’re blocked off for social distancing.
- Oasis class ships have more spaces that are outdoors & mask free (boardwalk, CP) so it felt like I was wearing a mask a lot more than when I was on a Symphony sailing in August....😐. Just an observation....

- I love that there is actually an accurately labeled deck 13 🤡🤪

- North Star was a highlight, and one I would repeat. It would be a new experience in every port, day and night.
- crew was attentive and friendly. Bring cash to tip your staff...especially  if you are getting the C & A free beverages❤️

Final tip....or suggestion......you may want to avoid Teppanyaki as a specialty restaurant....unless your entire “pod people”:party fills the table......someone on our FB  page got a call from guest services on day 5 that they were “exposed” to someone who tested positive . Since it was deemed close contact/exposure, they had to isolate in their cabin Friday until they were escorted off the ship on Saturday morning.  Not a fun way to end a sailing. 😢

already working to  plan my retirement travels! 😍 I will be on the Edge next May for a Rome/Greek isles cruise, then a few days exploring Rome before heading to Barcelona for 7 days on the Wonder of the Seas ❤️

look for a “LIVE”, “cross over”  event 🤣 - from the Celebrity boards, back HOME 😉
