Sharing non-alcoholic beverage plan drinks

Your poor college students are permitted to carry on 12 containers of any non-alcoholic beverage with them at embarkation.  Each container may be no larger than 17 oz/half a liter.  The passenger must carry them on, not check them with luggage.

On a related note, I noticed this in the Guest Vacation Documents for an Anthem from Bayonne cruise in 2021. Is this something new?  Please note my bolding.

Alcohol Policy
Guests are not allowed to bring beer, hard liquor, fortified
wines (vermouth, sherry, sake, and port wines) or
nonalcoholic beverages onboard for consumption or any
other use. Guests may bring personal wine or champagne
onboard only on embarkation day, limited to two (2)
bottles (no boxes) of 750 mi per stateroom. Wine should
be brought onboard via carry on if possible. Luggage
containing wine or champagne will not be delivered to the
stateroom and guests will need to retrieve their luggage
from security once the ship has set sail. Only staterooms
with at least one (1) guest over 21 years of age are eligible
to bring bottles of wine or champagne onboard. Guests
may request a corkscrew to use for opening bottles in their
stateroom.

That just means that they haven't updated that in a looooooong time.  Not surprising. 🤪

Website disagrees with that statement.

https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/food-drink-onboard-policy

On boarding day, each stateroom may bring up to two 750 ml bottles of wine or champagne, as long as one guest is of legal drinking age. Corkscrews will be provided for guests to enjoy their drinks in their stateroom. If guests wish to enjoy their wine or champagne in our dining or bar venues, there will be a corkage fee applied.

Guests may also bring non-alcoholic beverages as carry-on items on boarding day. Non-alcoholic beverages may not exceed 12 standard (17 oz.) cans, bottles or cartons per stateroom. Milk and distilled water brought on for infant, medical, or dietary use are permitted.

Because Hogbay posted from the Australian RCI site.

I didn't quote Hogbay, I quoted mets07 who posted a statement that was in the guest vacation documents for an Anthem sailing from Bayonne.

Missed that but that doesn't change the fact that Hogbay posted a link from the Aus site which doesn't apply to any cruises right now.  I need to look at our documents for our HOTS cruise in two weeks, not that we bring any onboard.

ETA, this is what's on my documents, same wording.

The only package where "both must buy" is the DBP.  (the alcoholic one)

One person can buy the refreshment package and the other buy the soda package.

One person can buy the refreshment package and the other buy no package.

BUT THEY CAN'T BUY ONE PACKAGE OF ANYTHING AND SHARE IT.

If one buys the DBP in a cabin, all others must have the refreshment package in the cabin. Unless, they have the DBP also.
