Rental Cars

Is there a rental car place near the port that shuttles to and from the port? We'd like to pick up a rental at the airport and return it the morning of the cruise if theres any with a shuttle. Being mainly on Florida based cruises this always has worked out well.

It is important to know which port. It also depends on the day of the week. San Pedro (Port of LA) I think both Enterprise and Hertz are closed on Sundays.

We were looking for a rental car place near San Pedro after our Sunday debarkation, none to be found.  Closest locations are either in Long Beach area, or in Torrance.  If we picked up from any of those locations and return at LAX (our departure flight), it's considered an one-way rental.

We decided to take NCL's transfer to LAX, and booked an one-day rental at LAX.  Just booked at Hertz for $66 with taxes & fees included for 1 day.  Yeah, we'll lose some time taking the NCL transfer to LAX, but beats paying $130 + Uber/taxi to a location outside of LAX and the return flight doesn't depart until 11PM. 😱

Just came across this and forgot I asked! We're going out of Seattle Pier 91 I believe. Yes, Michigan whooped us but who won their postseason game???

Pre Covid a couple of companies had offices in downtown Seattle, with shuttles. Not sure what has resumed in current times. There are threads here about the pre-Covid operations, if you search.

In the past the downtown car rental companies have provided a shuttle between the port and the rental location.  Appears it may have been suspended last year but the rental companies should be able to let you know if they’ll be doing it in 2022. Budget and Enterprise are a couple although there could be another.

Another questions would be do you really need a car rental. If you’re staying downtown for just an overnight it may not be.  It can be more of an inconvenience downtown.

We are still in a 'wait and see' holding pattern as to what will be happening at Pier 91.  Prior to Covid there was a rental car passenger pick-up/drop off at the pier.

If you are just in Seattle overnight before your cruise, using Uber, taxis and/or other types of ground transportation to get around would be your best bet.
