Does Celebrity ever offer reduced deposit sales?

We are considering booking three back to back cruises in Oct 2023. At $900 per cabin deposit X 3, that's a lot of cash to have locked up with Celebrity for the next two years. Is there any chance that we could see a sale offering reduced deposits?

Unfortunately with the current situation I don't see a reduced deposit on the horizon. In my estimation the pent up demand for cruises would indicate to them that a reduced deposit isn't needed to get people booking. I could be wrong. Two years ago they had reduced deposits for Black Friday, but from what I have seen that is not the case this year.  Reduced deposits are available at the future cruises desk while on board though.

Do you know anyone currently cruising on an X ship?  Or soon to be?  They can buy future cruise certificates for $100/person/cruise and give them to you. Doesn't have to stay in their names.  Once they're given to you and assigned to a cruise(s), then you can't give it/them to someone else.  You could Venmo/PayPal the $600 they'd need.  Just a thought.

Hello,

I have twice booked a B2B and only paid one deposit. Once was 'pre-covid' shutdown and one was (optimistically) during shutdown.

I was warned that they would split the deposit 50/50 as if it was only put on one, the IT system would cancel the booking that showed zero deposit.

Regards,

Cublet

Thank you everyone for the replies. I do not know anyone onboard who could buy an FCC for us. Cublet, I thought we would have to place a deposit for each separate cruise, but maybe I was wrong. Possibly it will work out that we only have to put one deposit as you did.

Thanks again.

@luckybecky:  Cublet is from the UK so deposit requirements may be different.  We almost always do B2B or longer series of cruises.  We have always had to place a deposit for each separate leg.  Last October we booked a B2B2B series in a suite, and we paid three $900 deposits.  Three separate $900 charges appeared on our credit card.

I have always had to pay a deposit for each leg of consecutive cruises. The only way I know to get a reduced deposit is book a future cruise while onboard the ship. Pay now or pay later.

If you are on a cruise you can either book using the reduced deposit or buy a future booking certificate at the same rate.

In the past they had a reduced deposit during Wave Season of $25.    I doubt they will do that now because so many people book cruises they don't intend on using and then cancelling at final payment date.
