hasentreelake Posted November 22, 2021 #1 Share Posted November 22, 2021 (edited) We're just about to leave our FLL hotel to board the Silhouette. Yesterday was rather uneventful but made for a long day. A couple of cocktails, some wine, and a great dinner at Bistro Mezzaluna topped the day off. We shared a burrata appetizer, pear+walnut salad, and the rigatoni bolognese - all were outstanding and I highly recommend Bistro Mezzaluna! We will be in an S1-aft, and my DW just remarked that 'we are back where we belong' - meaning we love the aft cabins. Our Sept 21 Summit cruise we were in an S1, mid-ship - which was perfectly nice , just not on the aft. We've chosen Murano for our first dinner and also have a specialty dining package (5 nights I think). We like Luminae, but don't love it enough to eat all our meals there. We bring our own snorkeling gear and will snorkel at 3 possibly 4 of our stops. The first couple of days will be relax time with sea days and a stop in Nassau. We have no plans for Nassau, so we will either stay onboard or book a last minute beach or snorkel excursion. Then on the the ABC's and Cartegena for our more active days. I am less than great when it comes to picture taking, so you won't get many food pictures from me. All others on this trip , please feel free to add your comments, musings, and pictures while we travel along our (just less than) 2 week journey! Headed to the shuttle for the port in about 15 minutes! Edited November 22, 2021 by hasentreelake
Barwick Cruiser Posted November 22, 2021 #2 Share Posted November 22, 2021 Hope you have a wonderful trip! We’re on the same itinerary on Silhouette in January and also bringing our snorkel gear. We’ve booked with Woodwind in Bonaire but curious where you’ll snorkel at the other ports. We have no plans yet for Nassau…never been so options are open! Looking forward to your posts! Rare DaKahuna Posted November 22, 2021 #3 Share Posted November 22, 2021 Just curious which stateroom you are in? We are booked for March 28 sailing in an Aft S-1, 2153. Would love to see pictures and hear your thoughts on the room.

Hickeyclan1 Posted November 22, 2021 #6 Share Posted November 22, 2021 We are on same Itinerary on March 28, 2022 except Grand Caymen and not Nassau. Please keep this thread going to let us know how the Upgrades on the ship are and how your cruise is going. We are in a Concierge Cabin Midship. A suite is $450 more per person per night. Too rich for our blood as that equates to 1 or 2 more cruises! Besides we never spend much time in the cabin anyway
TeaBag Posted November 22, 2021 #7 Share Posted November 22, 2021 Enjoy your cruise. Silhouette is our favourite Celebrity ship.

Wichenford Wolf Posted November 22, 2021 #11 Share Posted November 22, 2021 Keeping a watch on your reports as we are on a similar itinerary from 14 February next year. We’ve been on Silhouette twice this year (UK cruises) and the ship was in great condition. Have a great cruise!

He said that the Northern Route was much more enjoyable as far less traffic. He did go on the Southern Route as far as the Salt Fields but said traffic got too much and he then headed back to town

As for Golf Cart Rental - on the southern route there are many nice snorkeling spots on the 1st half of the loop. What is fun is you can just pull over any time you see a spot you like. One warning is the beaches are pretty much coral and rocks so make sure you have some swimming shoes unless you have really tough feet. hasentreelake Posted November 23, 2021 Author #19 Share Posted November 23, 2021 Dinner last night was in Murano. Very good food (dover sole and duck breast entrees) and service and not overly crowded. Today we have been docked in Nassau along with the Disney Dream and Carnival Elation. We have divided our time between the pool deck (early), the retreat sundeck for lunch, and the solarium pool after lunch. It's been a very windy day here which makes the retreat sundeck a difficult place to enjoy lunch but we enjoyed it despite th wind. There is a sailaway scheduled for 415 on the retreat sundeck. We are hearing a lot of the crew will be leaving after this cruise as they've come to the end of their 7 month contracts. Our retreat host has already replenished the mini bar even though we didnt drink anything in there. So we now have double what we started with. After the sailaway we will hit up the martini bar before heading off to luminae....
hasentreelake Posted November 23, 2021 Author #20 Share Posted November 23, 2021 I have to mention that we are in the cabin listening to J Geils Radio on Sirius XM and right now Bob Segar / Mary Lou is rocking us out.... Good tunes good times 😀
sakigemcam Posted November 24, 2021 #21 Share Posted November 24, 2021 Random tip for Aruba from our Silhouette trip in March 2020 (its last voyage before lockdown, and it sure was adventurous) - the open air spa at Manchebo Beach Resort. Afterwards you can enjoy their gorgeous boutique property. Stellar. Not sure their COVID policies but I booked the spa services and asked if we could use the resort afterwards. Have a blast - we'll be on Silhouette in March!

hasentreelake Posted November 24, 2021 Author #23 Share Posted November 24, 2021 A couple observations from last night.... Luminaè is enforcing their smart casual dress as shorts were not permitted. On summit in september they did not seemd to care what was worn by guests. On another thread i mentioned that holiday decorating would occur after we disembark. The staff has already started decorating for christmas with trees, wreaths, and garlands going up around the ship. Dinner and service in luminae was all very good. It's a cloudy breezy day on the pool deck with some occasional sun. We have no plans today other than to lounge around. Tonite is evening chic nite ... Does anyone know where there might be a good bloody mary onboard?
