*Do you have to wear a mask on the pool deck when your laying out in the sun?*

There is no requirement to wear a mask on any open outside deck.

There is a requirement to wear one indoors, but on the Mardi Gras in Sept and Freedom in November enforcement was lax.  Typical Carnival approach to guidelines.

About the only place where announcements were made to wear a mask inside was the comedy club, and even there some people held onto their drink for the whole show so they never had a mask on.

I'm on the Mardi Gras now, and the only time I've been specifically asked to put it on was at guest services and when entering a restaurant... Other than that, I've been naked faced the whole time so far...

So you'll only follow rules when someone approaches you and tells you to?  Just because there doesn't happen to be a crewmember handy to personally remind you that you're supposed to have on your mask in the theatre doesn't mean that it's ok to ignore the requirement.

Why is Carnival the only Cruise line making guest wear masks??  I've read other reviews from other lines that once they are board they dont have to wear one walking around.

I am ready to get rid of them for good!!

Carnival only requires to/from dining table, elevators, show rooms, casino and stores.  Walking around inside on the ship masks are not required.

I will 2nd (3rd, 4th, ...?) that Carnival does not require the masks inside when walking around the halls/pass through areas, just entering most venues. There may have been confusion to some which led them to believe folks were not complying. Those areas were only recommended, but not required. There are distinct signs that let you know when it is mandatory (as many have stated above).

Glad I read this. Honestly wasn't sure that was accurate but it is. I verified on Carnival's website. Thanks for the information.

Currently. Adjustments can be made at any time, including at a ship level, depending on conditions.

Have you actually heard of any Carnival ships following stricter rules than stated here/on website?

Yes.  We had stricter rules on the 2 week Pride repo.  Masks indoors.

I completely understand as they were attempting their first Journeys cruise and 2 weeks together was a long time.  I'm not aware of a single case and we were on the same hall as the designated 'Covid Unit'.

So, we can be in a crowded hallway without a mask but when walking to my table I have to wear one but when I sit 3 ft from the stranger next to me I don't.  Is that it?

That's what gets me.  it makes no sense.  If they (not just Carnival) had rules that made sense then OK, but they don't.  They arbitrarily put in rules to make it look like they are doing some good.  Oh and these are all (95%) vaccinated people with a negative test.....

Funny how they can fit 100,000 unmasked, untested, screaming people into many football stadiums every Saturday and Sunday and not have any outbreaks.......

Spot on. Makes no sense…but sure makes people feel safe.  How do it know to stay away when you’re at your table/games/etc/etc….and people buy it lol.
