CaptFantastic Posted November 30, 2021 #1 Share Posted November 30, 2021 From the Health and Safety FAQ’s on the Celebrity website…. What is the policy for unvaccinated children? If your children are unvaccinated, you're required to take a tour provided by Celebrity Cruises if you want to go ashore. Does anyone know if Celebrity makes a distinction between unvaccinated and not eligible for vaccination? My daughter will be 2 when we sail. I have a Caribbean cruise booked for February but am trying to decide whether to move it or wait and see what happens. I know the current policies are only in place until the end of the year. I tried calling Celebrity but the person I spoke to wasn’t even aware of this policy so that was a dead end. Thanks
Alakegirl Posted November 30, 2021 #2 Share Posted November 30, 2021 If not eligible, then they are unvaccinated. If not vaccinated, then they must be on a Celebrity tour., 5

If so, only celebrity sponsored tours. At this point who knows what 2022 will bring. Good luck 4
Rare cruisestitch Posted November 30, 2021 #4 Share Posted November 30, 2021 “Unable to be vaccinated” is “unvaccinated”. No difference in how they are handled, and I don’t see why they should be treated differently. Perhaps just some wishful thinking on the OP’s part.
Rare terrydtx Posted November 30, 2021 #5 Share Posted November 30, 2021 I suspect the current vaccination requirements will be extended well into next year. New variants and Covid is not going away will lead to vaccination extensions as will masks on airplanes. OP I would plan on doing ship sponsored tours only for now.
sanger727 Posted November 30, 2021 #6 Share Posted November 30, 2021 The unvaccinated policies are meant to increase safety for the passengers and the ports. The reason why the person is unvaccinated makes no difference. I don’t think these policies will be going away anytime soon so would expect them to be around in February. Also don't forget the safety of the crew without whom none of us would be cruising.
CaptFantastic Posted December 2, 2021 Author #8 Share Posted December 2, 2021 No wishful thinking as some suggest, just looking for facts. While "unable to be vaccinated" does, in fact, equal "unvaccinated", there are sometimes different rules. Take flying home as an example, vaccinated or not (I am), I'm allowed to enter my own country, however if unvaccinated then there is a quarantine and testing requirement. However, if, in the case of my daughter, you are unable to be vaccinated (in her case due to age), then there is no quarantine requirement. glmacruise Posted December 2, 2021 #9 Share Posted December 2, 2021 (edited) I get the impression things are moving so fast as an organization they can’t keep up. Edited December 2, 2021 by glmacruise

The reality is on a Celebrity ship, you are either vaccinated or not vaccinated the reason has no bearing on this.
