Carnival Horizon 12/5 cruise canceled

Wow—not much notice.  I wonder what the issue is.  At least they’re giving you a full refund and FCC for the entire amount of the cruise.  Hope you can find an alternative vacation.

We were supposed to be on the December 11th sailing. I booked our airfare with my points on my Barclay Carnival card. I hope they will refund my points. I was sure looking foward to this.

Wow. That stinks. I'm glad I didn't book that one. I was considering it instead of Vista which I booked.

We have friends on it now in Aruba and will do Bonaire tomorrow then 3 sea days where given $100 OBC and 25% towards next cruise

That is a shame.  Horizon is a great ship.  We were on it last week and there were no problems I was aware of with the cruise speed. Something must have happened very recently

Sucks to have a cruise cancelled, but sounds like you get your money back + a free cruise.

Darn - that really sucks OP, I feel for ya.  I'd hate to have flights and everything booked too - yuck.

 

Think of it this way, at least they are proactively trying to make sure it's not another poop cruise...

Just saw John Heald announce that Horizon sailings scheduled for Dec 5 and Dec 11 are cancelled while she undergoes repairs.  They're offering reimbursement and FCC, you'll get emails with details.

I hope Carnival bought an extended warranty on the Vista class propulsion systems and that the Excel class will not be similarly blighted!

Wow.  I just read about a couple on Heald's FB page that are flying from Germany tomorrow to do the now cancelled B2B.  If I'm Carnival, I tell them to come anyway.  We'll get you on Freedom or Sunrise or even pay for your Uber up to Port Canaveral for one of the ships there.  I hope John personally sees that and is able to reach out to the folks doing whatever he can.  Can't imagine THAT disappointment.  (And those plane tix ain't $200!)

Unfortunately I Only booked this because a super low rate.  To rebook it will cost me a lot more money. Sigh.

I’m on that 12-26 cruise as well, and my mom is on it currently.  I certainly hope the issue is fixed before we set sail.   Been counting down the days for a while….

They offered a really fair compensation.. I will book another later. In the meantime, I booked the Norwegian Joy for the 4th instead. There are a lot of great deals to be had for this weekend!

So did I.  276 +tax & port charges for a balcony.  Carnival should let us rebook at that rate.  Found a similar cruise on the Freedom in February for about $75 more but I don't want to (can't) lay out $$$ until we get our refund.

Paid $276/person +tax & port charges for a balcony.  Carnival should let us rebook at that rate.  Found a similar cruise on the Freedom in February for about $75 more but I don't want to (can't) lay out $$$ until we get our refund.

Oh no!!!   My cruise is the 19th.   If we get to sail I hope there are no issues while we are on it!  Bet it isn't fixed by then.  I better not find out 4 days before or won't be going on any vacation for at least another year.
