COVID testing Barcelona departure.

Anyone know what the procedure is for Barcelona departure. The 48 hour pre cruise Covid test, will be the day we are flying into Barcelona. Do I have to find somewhere in Barcelona to get tested?

Not sure when you are traveling but things are changing on a daily basis.   What they may be on your cruise date may be totally different than those of today.  

 

Best to check Celebrity https://www.celebritycruises.com/health-and-safety   they update as things change.

 

Assuming you have the 2 day prior to departure you will either have to find a place in Barcelona to be tested or do a Monitored Self Test.    I would recommend the self test.   Buy it closer to sail date as the tests have expiration dates on them.   I've done the self test 3 times and it is easy and quick and you have your results on the website and emailed within 15 minutes.   

 

Many recommend you get a spare or two in case of user error or missing items in your kit.  If flying home you will probably also need a test 24-48 hours from departure time .   They may be available for a fee on the ship or depending on when you booked may be free.

This year they did tests in port prior to embarkation in Europe.

A bit daft asking now - wait until the European protocols have been issued by Celebrity.

Then ask again about a month before.

Bit like me asking what will the entry rules be to the USA next July?

When is your cruise scheduled?  When we boarded the Apex in October in Barcelona a pretest prior to the embarkation date was not required.  We did one before we departed the US as a precaution.  Celebrity administered a rapid test as a condition of boarding.
