I am having my before dinner happy hour.  The turkey is out resting and the veggies are in the oven.  Prosecco is being opened and we will toast you all!  Made it through another Christmas...  Ate half the box of See's (the three of us).

Its quiet here  right now, but I expect the grandsons will be waking soon, and thus will begin the excitement of Christmas in the house.  I have cinnamon buns ready to put in the oven (I prepped them last night), and soon will start the first batch of stuffing that will go into the crock pot.   The second batch goes into the turkey. 
 

We’ll have our traditional Christmas dinner with roast turkey and stuffing, mashed potatoes, a mixture of vegetables and salads, etc.  And wine.  Oh, and birthday cake because today’s my special day. 
 

Sending prayers to everyone, especially to our Daily family who are in need.  Raising the wine glasses to celebrate the season and everyone on the happy list.  Stay safe, wear your masks, keep warm, wash your hands, and be well.

I was up at 1am trying to make an appointment for a covid test , but the only thing available then was a test for today and it was too early for me to test. Then at 3am I got an appointment for Sunday afternoon which will be 5 days so I’m really happy for that. So far, no symptoms.

Last night Sam went by ambulance to the hospital because we thought he was having another stroke but thankfully we caught a break. He’s still there this morning and the covering cardiologist from our group saw him.Waiting for them to call and say we can pick him up. I think my life looks like a bad soap opera.

Carol, glad Sam did not have a stroke, and hope he's home by now.  Glad you have an appointment for the Covid test tomorrow.  Here's hoping you fail it.  I also hope 2022 is much, much better to you and your family than 2021 has been.

Graham, the ornament Sarah gave you and Pauline is ingenious.  You and Pauline are lucky to have Sarah in your lives, and she is also lucky to have you both in her life.  She is a very lovely young lady.

     We will be having Prime Rib today. It was on a great sale at Publix. My family does not like hot ham. Dont know why.

    Surfing Santas was great yesterday. Dog Flutie ( former NFL player) jumped out of a helicpter to beging the day. Dont know the final number of surfers but there were hundreds. We stayed back up the beach a way to avoid the huge crowd.

     @Sharon in AZ Love that tree! Did you order it special or d they have them made up? we are scheduled to be on a ship next Christmas.

I'm not fond of hot ham either.  When I took the ham out of the oven we let it rest before we served it.  By then, it was just the right temperature.

Merry Christmas to everyone! I read every day but don't tend to post. It is a white Christmas in our oart of the Pacific Northwest with a couple of inches falling last night and a few more due today. Having DS and DDIL for gifts and dinner (Ham, cheesy scalloped potatoes, ginger carrots, rolls and pumpkin bars or pie for dessert). They live about 10 minutes away. May have a few friends stop in as well depending on how plans go. We're all vaccinated, boostered, etc. 

My best gift is I got DH home from the hospital last night! He was in for 10 days with a badly infected finger (MRSA) and I'll be doing infusions of his antibiotic at home for about 2 weeks but at least he's home! With his memory issues home is a much better place for him. Our small local hospital was wonderful at allowing me in every day. 

Kazu - hang in there! The best advice came from our nurse practitioner several years ago when DH's medical issues started. She told me, no matter what and how hard, do something for yourself! My happy place is the pool doing water aerobics. You have your dogs and your flowers. We have to take care of ourselves to be able to take care of the important men in our lives.

I am very happy as I got the results of my Covid test about 8:PM last evening and it was Negative. My BIL and my Next Door Neighbor both had mild cases and have recovered. My SIL is still symptomatic so not fully recovered. Unfortunately my BIL's next door neighbor passed within one day of being diagnosed with Covid. 

I will be alone for Christmas dinner which will be a ham steak, sweet potato, deviled egg and macaroni salad. No brown sugar on anything, I must be the only person in the world that Does Not Like Brown Sugar.

 

@mamaofami I hope that your Covid test is neagative , you have been through so much this past year.

Jane, great news your test was negative.    Also, good news that your BIL and neighbor are well now, and I hope your SIL recovers soon.  Such sad news about your BIL's neighbor passing.

Yes I did!  I had ordered flowers for our cabin and the florist personally delivered them. Thanks to Antoine the florist, I asked about mini Christmas trees and he had them and I was able to order one. @Seasick Sailortold me this evening that they were for sale in a public area (she couldn’t remember exactly where!! Oh Joy!). It’s been nice having a bit of Christmas in the cabin. 🌲

Pauline made a lovely breakfast and we are now sitting down watching Judge Judy.
