Club Class Question

As a non-drinker, I am pleased to learn of the swap possibilities.  However, I also have the Beverage Package and the Elite bar set-up, so I really don't need more cans of Coke in exchange for the two half-bottles of wine.

Just curious, do the half-bottles of wine get served as carafes, or mini-bottles or what?  Or actual bottles, half empty, so they give you the dregs?  I never thought about it before!

I guess my cabin steward will get the two half-bottles and the Elite set-up's miniatures of booze since there is no need to swap out, thanks to the (wasted) Beverage Package.

Did you do the math to calculate how much it would cost for getting the Plus rate as opposed to the basic rate?

In other words: the Plus rate averages $40/day.

If you don't need the booze (like me - also a tee totaler), how much would it cost you to pay for internet (Elite discount) and the gratuities? Maybe, trade your mini-bar for the coffee pkg?

This is what we do. It makes no sense for us to get the Plus rate.

Through the casino, the offer was too good to quibble about.  I always buy the Soda and More package at about $8 per day per person, so for us, the rack-rate on the Preferred Beverage Package is a waste of almost $40 per person per day.  But I can't trade the Beverage Package for anything such as on-board credits, specialty dining, or excursions or anything.  I try to look at it as saving $8 pp per day (not having to buy the Soda package).

However, I am getting more sophisticated, now drinking a mock-tail every evening, instead of just fountain-gun Coke!

  • Thanks 1
