Carib. port as PR and USVI seem unlikely. Instead we get a “you can’t say you weren’t warned” email. We’re personally fine floating around the Caribbean in Jan versus being at home….although I’m concerned for my parents who aren’t good just hanging at the pool (80s). I do think the tone is a bit much though. Sounds defensive to me. They should be offering alternate ports like they would during hurricane season….swap for w. Carib itinerary for example….even if it’s only one stop. They have time to react. When we make these decisions, we consider the number of COVID positive cases onboard, and also the number of cases in the destination community along with factors such as the community vaccination status. Should we need to cancel a port of call, we will always do our best to find an alternate destination or work through a resolution for our missed port. Glad they sent it for people with some future cruises. It's not ship or sailing specific so it's a broad enough message to be sent to passengers on multiple upcoming sailings. Great! Passengers are notified in advance of various possibilities. So, they can make a choice before sailing (go or not go). Great! It informs those booked for a sailing to be fully aware of changes, and the possibility of more changes once onboard, d/t the recent uptick in Covid cases. nocl Posted December 29, 2021 #23 Share Posted December 29, 2021 They cannot really say any more because they do not know how many cases may show, which crew members, such as the entertainers might get infected, which ports might decide to not let that particular ship in on any particular cruise. To put it simply they do not know much more than any of you when it comes to any single cruise. They did say that they would try to find alternative ports, but to put it simply, the number of potential ports is quite limited and if some ports will not allow ships in due to cases on board, it is unlikely that another port will want them. It is every ones choice cruise knowing the uncertainty or cancel and save the money to cruise sometime when things are more certain. 7 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
