Thanks for the great photos. I guess it's the next best thing, if we can't be on a cruise look at photos from people who are.

Thank you .We're glad that you enjoy the photos . Maybe it will be an incentive to plan your next trip . We do like to reflect , relive and remember thru the photos . It's like a second trip free .

Trip tip # 3 is our last luggage tip .

We always keep garbage bags in the outside pocket of our suit cases . In the event of rain and or snow they pop over the bag possibly poking a handle thru if needed . They are also good for wet gear or dirty clothes .

Our long first day was coming to an end and at 9 Pm we headed to the closest bar  which was the Seaview . I like a Pina Cola and some pretzels before bed to relax and crunch a little . The Seaview Bar didn't have the ingredients to make a PC so we headed to the next bar which was the Lido . The Lido Bar had the ingredients but were closed . I gambled and asked if they could send the ingredients to the Seaview but I came up snake eyes . At the Seaview I tried a red Daiquiri in a to go cup that was too sweet for my taste . Morning comes early for me as for over 28 years I had to leave home at 0430 to make it to work by 0700 for my 24 hour shift as a Firefighter/Paramedic in Miami . Old habits still haven't died which meant that I would take the camera for a walk , pick up some cream for DW's coffee and shoot the sunrise while Patty slept . Lights out is usually by midnight and went to sleep dreaming of a walk on a ghost ship . 😴

Further forward are the entertainment venues . The Queen's Lounge and Arts Center has been repurposed and rebranded as BB King's Blues Club .

And Billboard Onboard

Having seen so many of the original performers and bands over the years we are not big fans of cover bands and top 40 bands and as a result we didn't attend any of the performances . We know that the band's drummer was missing during the cruise and that some of the comedy performances were canceled as well on our cruise . For us entertainment is not why we chose HAL .

Love the Tamarind.  Unfortunately, our next cruise is on the Volendam and it doesn't have one.

We haven't been on the Volendam but did see her up the river in Curacao on our last cruise there before the flu hit in December 2019 .

volendam.thumb.jpg.19e9169febf4f5d56f0802bfb8dbc947.jpg

We were in the same place this cruise on January 3rd . We have cruised on her sister cruise the Zaandam a couple of times to South America and Antarctica - our favorite location so far . We do love the Tamarind and wish that they would offer a pop up Tamarind on the ships that don't currently have a dedicated one .

Travel tip # 4 is a product that we have used for a while for it's anti- microbial properties used to keep our hands and bodies clean and to prevent disease . We use it at home and brought it on the cruise to help keep us healthy with frequent hand washing .

Defense soap .
