Rare IntrepidFromDC Posted January 22, 2022 Author #76 Share Posted January 22, 2022 We sailed away and I couldn't feel the ship's engines or movement at all until we got into ocean waters. Big difference from the aft-balcony-kneel-before-the-porcelain-god experience my daughter endured on Pride three months ago.
Rare IntrepidFromDC Posted January 22, 2022 Author #77 Share Posted January 22, 2022 (edited) Had one martini in Brass Magnolia and this blues band from Brazil cast a spell on the packed crowd first and second songs. Then cruise director mike pierced the buzz for 10 solid infomercial minutes. But they're back and we're loving it. Who puts dry towels on a rack between the tooth-brusher and shaver and the wet sink? These towels were both pretty wet by the time I washed this shirt. 1
tx121 Posted January 23, 2022 #79 Share Posted January 23, 2022 (edited) We are also currently sailing on Mardi Gras and looks like nice warm weather is ahead of us as we head to the ports! Yesterday for sure was the coldest sail away party in awhile. The last time I felt that cold was sailing out of Bayonne, New Jersey on a Royal ship to New England and Canada in Oct! People were still dancing away in the cold Yesterday until the rain came. Still had a good time! The last sea day though..... lol! Guess more time in the casino on the way back 😳🤣 Edited January 23, 2022 by tx121
Knights on the Beach Posted January 23, 2022 #80 Share Posted January 23, 2022 Yikes, that's a cold sea day! Hopefully the forecast changes for the better by then. It's 49 in Cape Canaveral this morning, this ain't right. 🥶 1
Rare ninjacat123 Posted January 23, 2022 #81 Share Posted January 23, 2022 That is chilly! I guess being north of Lake Okeechobee still makes for a cold embarkation in January. Looks like Cozumel will warm you up! 👍😎
Rare IntrepidFromDC Posted January 23, 2022 Author #82 Share Posted January 23, 2022 Cucina for free? Clams and mussels antipasti and al dente linguine with littleneck clams better than any MDR meal I've ever had...

Rare IntrepidFromDC Posted January 23, 2022 Author #84 Share Posted January 23, 2022 Water pressure in the shower is disappointing. Was much better on Pride and Legend last year. The handheld is almost useless, the water just pours downward even on full power.
Rare IntrepidFromDC Posted January 23, 2022 Author #85 Share Posted January 23, 2022 Big Chicken was so good for lunch yesterday I tried it for breakfast... a bit disappointing. Instead of whole, pressed chicken breast it was white meat separated and reformed, like mcnuggets but better quality. Back to Blue Iguana for breakfast tomorrow.

Looks like my prognostication came true. The Bills coach should be fired for not doing a squibb kick with 13 seconds left. At least four or five seconds would have ticked off and the Chiefs would not have gotten their miracle comeback.

Rare IntrepidFromDC Posted January 24, 2022 Author #92 Share Posted January 24, 2022 Chibang was a much more refined gastronomic experience than MDR. I really want to thank the cruise critic members who talked about the additional 3 restaurant options for YTDers. Yes, they're still free.

We're not staying at a hotel on Astronaut Blvd., but the Holiday Inn Vacation Club Port Canaveral. It looks like a 15 minute walk (maybe 20 minutes if we have to dodge/outrun any gators in the streets/canals). I just made reservations at the Holiday Inn Vacation Club Port Canaveral. I cant wait to see what you thought of them!

And shoes!! I hate shoes, I'm a flip flop girl. But it's all relative. It's cloudy and gloomy here right now but if it was 60 and sunny I'd be sitting at the tiki bar at Grills (still dressed for winter). But instead I'm sitting inside in sweatpants with a pot of chili on the stove waiting for football to start. 🤣 Its so funny - my hubby is a Floridian and goes everywhere, almost, in shorts and flip flops. Even if it is cold outside. But he will put on a hoodie and beanie to keep warm. 2

Rare IntrepidFromDC Posted January 24, 2022 Author #98 Share Posted January 24, 2022 Cozumel is probably one of my top 10 favorite ports in Caribbean and Mexico. We hadn't been there in 5 years, but knew we wanted to eat at Mission Restaurant again
