Thus far we have eaten in the windjammer for lunch yesterday (the food was just OK at best) MDR (food was soooooo good, crabcakes were the highlight) and MDR for breakfast (quite good).

Yesterday we visited every bar and had many drinks.  Far too many.....  My wife and I danced overlooking the centrum.  My wife is now known onboard as dancing Patsy.

Crew are so fantastic.  They all know our room and our drink preferences.  Tonight is dress to impress and we will be!

I will detail the process.  We are grandfathered in and ours is still free but it will be at the terminal.  I will book a backup rapid PCR near the peace bridge as plan B.

Thank you so much. I would appreciate any information you can share.

We just got off her yesterday. The Windjammer is going to be hit or miss. The stuff that is good is very very good, but the stuff that is not will leave you just wondering “*****?”

We found that the soups were uniformly terrific. You can always cobble together a great salad, especially with the salad bar and adding the small cold corn/pasta/potato salads that are usually on the wings as you walk in. The Indian and Greek food was usually great as well, if that is your taste. We particularly liked the goat curry, and the lamb moussaka was also great each time we had it.

Don’t overlook the park café. We stopped in there for a quick lunch or bite several times. The pizza is terrific, it has a surprisingly good salad bar, and it usually has several different sandwiches, most of which are really good.

My husband and I are booked for the 1/28 sailing and would love to know what the current situation is in the MDR and Windjammer, in regards to crowds and social distancing. Both venues were pretty full on our December Anthem sailing, but I'm hoping that might not be the case on Enchantment at the moment. We're trying not to bring Covid back to our kids (who are scheduled to go to a camp in February), and I'd rather not have to rely on room service or sneaking Sorrento's up to the room to make that happen. 😆

I just got off the ship yesterday. Her capacity is 2200, we had 900 on our sailing.  Presumably, your sailing will have equally low numbers.

Socially distancing in either the MDR or the Windjammer is not difficult as long as you use a little bit of common sense. The Windjammer had every other table blocked off, and was rarely busy, except a couple of times when we went. It’s easy to social distance, though, because it is adjacent to the pool deck, so if it’s a little crowded inside you can just take your lunch to one of the tables outside.

With the main dining room, the easiest thing to do is just go at a slightly off hour. We chose MTD, but generally ended up going between 745 and 8 pm.  There might have been maybe 10 tables on the entire second floor of the dining room at that time? No exaggeration.

No idea if you tend to be earlier or later diners, but if you go at either end of the dinner hour spectrum, you will likely have absolutely nobody around you.

Just enjoyed our formal night in the MDR.  My wife had pumpkin soup, Beef tenderloin and a souffle.  I enjoyed a seafood linguini, classic caesar and royal chocolate cake.  All executed perfectly.

Enjoying music at Boleros now.  I am sure dancing will follow.

We have arrived in Charleston.  We slept in this morning and are slow to get going.  Not sure if we will get off here or not.

We had a great night at Boleros and the R bar.  Ended it off in the casino and left up.  My wife had a few decent hits on slots and I held my own also.

We’re also on this cruise. There are 716 passengers aboard. It seems strange not to get to the Schooner Bar early to get a seat for trivia.  Along with being cold outside, it’s very cold on board so bring a sweatshirt if you’re coming on soon.  We have 5:30 main dining and went to the MDR right away the first day to see where our table was.  They had us at a “sharing table”.  We asked to be moved to a table by ourselves and it was no problem.  They have every other table blocked off where we are.  Needless to say, the ship feels very empty.  It’s great to be sailing again😊

Are they still requiring vaccinated to wear bracelets and everyone to wear "tracelets?"

We did get a bracelet indicating we are vaccinated.  Unsure of the tracelet comment.  We have our fabric bracelet and our sail pass, that is about it.

Are they  requiring reservations for MDR for all meals?... The Windjammer?

We appreciate your posts and your positivity!!!

Why not be positive and look for the good in things, we are not the doom and gloom type.

We reserved before we boarded for MDR.   We have my time dining.  As for windjammer, no reservations needed, but your sail pass is scanned on entry and exit.

We didn't end up getting off the ship.  We met up with someone I had been chatting with the other day and chatted away while having some drinks in the Solarium.  Had great views and it was warmer with the sun peaking through the clouds.  We are less than an hour away from departing so we will watch from our balcony with (you guessed it) some adult beverages in hand.  We've another reservation in the MDR for 6:30pm and are looking forward to the culinary delights that will provide.

I think tonight will be more dancing, bar hoping and more casino time.

A few pictures of the port from the ship.  Also format night shots.

Following along as promised in another Enchantment thread!  You both look lovely!  I am glad to hear that you're having a wonderful time so far.  I truly wish you both a cruise that rejuvenates and makes you feel like VIPs after the last couple of years of craziness.

You mentioned being grandfathered in for post cruise testing.  How did you confirm this?  I assume you meant that the cost is waived?

I realize you are traveling without children but are any on board?  I am wondering what kind of children's activities might be available for thing 1 and thing 2 (12 and 14) in these unusual times.  I hope they will not be confined to a circle, given they're fully vaccinated.  Perhaps someone else reading this thread, might be able to answer.

Life's too short, not to get out to sea.  Thank you so much for taking us along!  Jeannine from Ottawa.

Thanks for the kind words.  As for the PCR test, yes we are not being charged for it as RCCL extended out the time to qualify for free tests to Jan 31.  I enquired about it at guest services yesterday and they confirmed it will be done in the terminal when we disembark.  Now I don't have any more details yet, but will ask for a print out or something to ensure we don't get charged.   The last 2 days are sea days so I have lots of time to get into that on those days.  We do have 2 take home antigen tests that we will use to ease our minds on the last night.

There are some children, of all ages it seems (I find it hard to guess children's ages correctly).  I have seen them around the solarium today especially.  I don't know what kinds of activities they have for them.  Is there usually something in the cruise compass?  I can send you a copy of it if that helps.

Ah.  I totally forgot about the January 31 extension rule for free testing.

The cruise compass would be lovely!  Things may be different on our 12 night in March.  Most ships have a kids club but I am not sure if it is operating or not. Insert musing chin emoji here. 😉

Looking good!

Thanks for the info on the bracelets for vaccinated.  On Allure we had those and "tracelets."  These looked like thin plastic watches without faces and were used to track passengers in the event they were exposed to anyone with Covid.

Regarding the Cruise Compass....I think they publish one listing children's activities.  That may have changed after the re-start.
