This is what happens when Tom Brady's deal with the devil falls through. Hell freezes things over.

Ya, not their best game at all.  Guess no back-to-back superbowl rings for TB....somebody else's turn this year (well, not Utah's of course....).

If you mean during embarkation, we did notice them pulling people in wheelchairs out of line for expedited check in… other than that have not noticed.

Yes - that is what I'm talking about - thanks.

My niece and her husband and daughter are on this cruise.  They had a nightmare yesterday with their cabin and ended up moving 3 times but finally the cabin works.  Original cabin the bed was soaked due to the sprinkler going off accidently when they were not there.  They gave them another cabin - but NO HELP with moving which really surprised me.  Second cabin only had a sofa, not a sofa bed which they need for their daughter.  By the time they finally got their 3rd cabin it was 10 pm and they were exhausted so just slept in cabin 2 last night and moved this morning - again no help.  So they were a little frustrated by the lack of help and how long it took GS to fix the cabin issue.  Then today because of the moves, their SeaPass cards quit working!  Looks like all is fixed now, but they pretty much lost all of yesterday due to Royal's issue with the their cabins. Tonight they have the Aqua Show so they should really enjoy that.

Almost the exact same thing happened to me on Oasis a few weeks ago!

I have never been one to ask for compensation, but I did on this one and they obliged. I was in a center hump balcony, was offered a boardwalk balcony or an inside cabin as a replacement, which I firmly declined. By the time I was eventually given another OV balcony, I had to move all of our already unpacked belongings by myself at 1AM. We basically lost the entire first night.

Make sure they talk to guest services!

She has and I told her to make sure she keeps asking about some compensation for what they went through yesterday when it was entirely Royal's fault and nothing to do with them.

They offered me a bottle of wine, but it was a $7 bottle of wine at home and we had the drink package 😄. They finally gave me a FCC for one day. Glad she's on top of it. Hope they enjoy!

Have they mentioned approximately how full the ship is?  Does it feel crowded/empty/etc?

No need to worry...ships are between 35-50% (unless it's a charter), and are going to remain there (or less) until these protocols subside.  Those willing/wanting to jump thru all the hoops necessary get to enjoy the emptiness.  We've enjoyed 5 thus far, and are now hoping to cruise again at a later time (I don't believe for a minute that the general public will put up with it more than once).  Enjoy each and every cruise...something has to give IMO.

Thanks!

I’m pretty conservative when it comes to Covid and the hoops, so I don’t mind.  😃

@Sealily22 Thank you for starting this thread.  We board the Oasis next week for a B2B, so we are following along closely.  You mentioned that this is your first cruise, but from your posts, you sound like a veteran cruiser.  Picking the Oasis for your first cruise will set the bar very high for any subsequent cruises.  Enjoy your cruise.

I have heard a few different numbers… 2600? 60% capacity? This is my first cruise, but I am vacationing with 2 veteran cruisers and they can’t believe how empty the ship is. I am definitely spoiled for any future cruises!

We enjoyed a delicious dinner at the MDR. Seafood puff pastry, eggplant and kalamata olive tartare, Moroccan spiced ahi tuna (so good!), bananas foster and coconut layer cake.

We were supposed to be on this cruise, but postponed it to the end of April, to the Allure of the Seas. I will be reading your posts and living the dream through you, as if we were really there this week! So far sounds seamless. 🙂

When were your show reservations open online? Is it 30 or 45 days? I can't remember but am sailing on Oasis in March.

We were not able to book any activity / show reservations until we were on the ship’s wifi. We also noticed that show availability changed constantly, so keep checking even if something is booked up.

It was a beautiful day on the ship! We went to Windjammer for breakfast (we liked it better than MDR yesterday).

Today we:

Checked out the Spa ($50 off any service booked today), Gym (was almost inspired to work out!), Walking track, Boardwalk

Went to Solarium Bistro for lunch (it was more a brunch buffet - no need for reservations)

Went to the Art Auction - 2 hours long - probably an hour more than we needed, but was good and you get champagne and you can win prizes

Went to a wine tasting at Vintages - $30 to taste 5 Italian wines plus a mini meat/cheese/olive charcuterie plate - about 1 hour

Had more wine on our balcony and enjoyed the beautiful view

Got dressed up for Formal night and had another delicious dinner at MDR (calamari, wedge salad, Duck a l’orange, beef tenderloin, lemon caper barramundi (no cod), grand marnier soufflé, carrot cake - yum!

Went to the headliner show (Earl Turner) at Royal theater - he was great!

Posed for Formal pictures around the ship - this was so fun!

We have to get to bed early since we have an early excursion tomorrow in Cozumel. Ordered room service delivery for 6am tomorrow.

No towel animal today boo 😞

Wow, thanks for the info! I assume this is the new way due to covid, which I totally understand. Just was trying to coordinate dinner and shows. But got the UDP so days 2-7 will have to be done on the ship too, so both being done onboard will be fine.

Now I can stop checking cruise planner!
