Ordering drinks in casino as "prime"

Thank you! Managed to get my wife to prime for next year as well. This was our first cruise without the drink package and I don't think we'll go back.

They're definitely more lenient on diamond drinks.. I couldn't tell you how many times we never got charged for a diamond drink so multiple times this cruise we were able to use our "4 diamond drinks" 5 or even 6 times each day on multiple days.. Just check your account in the app towards the end of the day to see how many they didn't charge you for at random bars.

Majority of the week, using my prime status, we were able to get drinks for myself and my wife while playing and at the casino. Very accommodating. I'm sure this varies by ship how strict they are, but it won't matter since we'll both be prime next cruise how lenient they are.

If you are prime you can order drinks for both you and your wife for free in the casino. Just like when you are given a free cruise, it's for two people. My wife also drinks a lot of bottled water. It's not uncommon for me to order two drinks and two bottles of water. I've NEVER been questioned about it, but I always give the bartender a tip. Many people don't do this which is VERY rude since they are taking care of you for free. With a drink package they are getting tipped, but with Prime they are not.

It just depends on the bartender. Technically it's supposed to only be free drinks for the player, and not treated the same as the casino cruises. I specifically asked the host one day.. But as we know, rules vary by ship. I never got questioned on our last cruise, however I had to flash two seapass cards.. I just put the non prime card behind the prime card.

As many people have said in this thread and many others, different ships and crew do things differently.

I have been sitting at the casino bar and have seen the bartenders look at the SeaPass cards very carefully to be sure that the person qualifies for the complimentary drinks.

So can someone explain prime to me??

We just booked our first cruise post covid.  Our last cruise was over 3 years ago and that cruise finally made us diamond.

We have also received a few free cruise vouchers during the last year from Casino royale, but unfortunately the dates and cruises did not work for us.

Is prime more than being a casino royale member??

How do I become prime if we havent sailed in so long?  We do gamble on the cruise,  How much time an money do we need to spend to get the free drinks??

thanks .

This is good policy throughout the ship. Find a bartender you like and tip them well and you'll generally be taken care of.

I don't really drink that much during the day, DW makes up for it. In the days when not everyone in the room had to have the Drink Package, by Day #3 the Jamaican Gent at the pool bar would be asking her "You SURE he doesn't want anything?"

Some definitely have a "not like the drinks are coming out of my salary" attitude. 😉

Bringing this thread back to life.. Has anyone had any luck getting "an extra drink for the road" etc on the way to dinner? Essentially walking out with two drinks to go? Curious if anyone has had any luck based on experience?

it has been hit and miss. I usually can get two, but have been questioned about it. Most cruises the wife and I both are Prime.

As long as I show two prime cards, I can get two prime drinks.   Water is often provided (if requested) with any drink.
