Looks like Discovery Princess is on its way to Fincantieri's shipyard at Ancona. https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/home/shipid:6857472/zoom:10 Edited February 1, 2022 by billco 2
RJAM3 Posted February 1, 2022 #5 Share Posted February 1, 2022 I was looking at one of the main ship tracking apps and it shows the Discovery is headed for Cyprus..why in the world would they be headed for Cyprus?

The Sapphire Princess is anchored there right now. Possibly picking up some crew that have essentially already passed quarantine?
Rare fpsphil Posted February 1, 2022 #7 Share Posted February 1, 2022 They might also have some crew pre-quarantined on the P&O ships that are there that they can transfer over
WAvoyager Posted February 1, 2022 #8 Share Posted February 1, 2022 Didn’t realize they were going to have a new ship sailing this year! We’re booked on two cruises - both itineraries could have been booked on the Discovery with just a few days change in our plans. 😔 Oh well. One ship (Majestic) is new to us, and the other will be familiar from previous sailings.

Princess Cruises Fann Posted February 2, 2022 #10 Share Posted February 2, 2022 Corinnee who was an Assistant Cruise Director on my Regal cruise the other week mentioned she was getting transferred to Cypress to help get the Discovery Princess ready for the March 27th sailing and then be on board for the Discovery through the Alaska season. She mentioned she helped get the Sky Princess ready before its inaugural sailing. Crew assists in completing the finishing touches before the public boards. Corinnee mentioned she put together assembled ping pong tables and furniture.

Discovery is still en route to Limassol, Cyprus where it’s scheduled to arrive on 2/5 where Sapphire Princess is currently anchored & also think it’s to pick up crew to help prepare the ship for passengers.
