sueandkent Posted February 4, 2022 #1 Share Posted February 4, 2022 Before I get to my question just let me note I know there is a Canadian cruiser specific board but my question is related to Princess Insurance specifically so I thought I may get more help over here. I purchased Princess Platinum insurance with my cruise booking. I have read the policy thoroughly but am still a bit confused. For my fellow Canadian cruisers do you carry additional insurance to the Princess policy? In all the years I've cruised we always had travel insurance included in my husband's work benefit plan but alas my husband has passed and now I need to make sure I am covered sufficiently. I'm thinking if I need anything else it would be just additional medical (non covid) coverage, Princess seems to have the covid coverage included. What do others do? Anubi Posted February 5, 2022 #2 Share Posted February 5, 2022 Hi, another Canadian here. I asked my TA that specific question and this is what she told me. "...the medical coverage is not great, it's only $20,000 per person. If you have out-of-country medical, the PVP may be a good add-on or we can look at adding on an additional medical-only policy if you wanted to go that route. Here's a link that gives an overview of what is included with the Platinum: https://affinitytravelcert.com/document/pdfs/PCT_Plt_Landing.html I hope this helps. dog Posted February 5, 2022 #3 Share Posted February 5, 2022 I always buy an additional annual medical plan. Only bought PVP twice, mainly for CFAR. I have had Allianze, Manulife. Price out for best at the booking time
Steelers36 Posted February 5, 2022 #4 Share Posted February 5, 2022 @sueandkent, I'd go with @dog's advice. I'd only by the PVP plan for CFAR. We have annual out-of-province medical plan that has better coverage and we just buy add-on from whoever if we are on a trip >60 days.
nini Posted February 5, 2022 #5 Share Posted February 5, 2022 We are not Canadian. But we also only purchase the PVP for the CFAR. Our regular medical insurance covers us also during travel.
