Yes it was. Made me feel alittle 🥴. I found a cruise duck, so that cheered me up alittle. Enjoying your thread even though we are onboard.

What deck and what part of the ship is your cabin  located?

Day 3

so I am not sure what happened between this cruise and last cruise. But they are patrolling the pool area like a haw.  At the Solarium if it reaches 7 in the pool they will ask new comers to leave and if you stayed too long they signal you to get out.  Which is fine I like it this way but they did not do this last week.

Have you heard how many passengers there are this week vs last week?  I wonder if there's a certain capacity they reach where they start monitoring social distancing rules.

Do you need to take towels to perfect day or are they given out there? Thanks

You need to take a towel with you. Strangely, they weren't distributing towels as we got off the ship, we had to go to the pool deck on 15 to check out towels to take ashore.

I believe the rented cabanas include towels, if you rent one check the included amenities to be sure.

The ship is rolling side-to-side, would be the same fore and aft. Might be more pronounced on higher floors than lower?

If you talk to the crew they will tell you that even though oasis class is the biggest, they don’t do as well in rough seas as Freedom class.  It may be in particular types of weather, not sure.  But high winds for example due to how tall oasis class is relative to others.   I think there are some design issues as well that they knew about before Oasis was ever even launched.  By issues I mean a conceded sacrifices to have the ship they wanted.

Regardless, Oasis class isn’t necessarily the best for motion in the rougher weather.  In calm seas you feel less than other ships, but in the rough stuff you definitely know you are on a ship.

We always have ours ready in the cabin the day before.   In the back pack and ready to go.   Easy peasy.

Are you in your cabin all ready, if  not head to the aft first before turning in, I bet it's worse upfront where your cabin is,

When I was at Blaze deck 4 you can feel the rocking and even the comedian was swaying.  He had to sit down for a bit.  I found the first guy Jackson Purdue to be funnier than the second guy.

It was worse higher up.  At 3 MDR it was rough but you don’t feel is as much but when I got up higher you are rockin and rolling.

Loved all of today’s pictures, especially the rehearsal of the Aqua show and the stormy weather. The food porn is killing me, though! I am not supposed to be snacking now, and I definitely do not want to be gaining weight because you went on a cruise! 🤣😱😋

Hahahaha…that is funny!!!  the food selection on the value cruise portion is great.  I would not buy the UDP again when I back to the Oasis Of the Sea next month.

Thank you so much!  Hope you are enjoying the cruise on this great ship!  That is neat that you found a duck!  He looks unique.

It was announced 3525 on embarkation day but then last night I thought I heard Mike said the actual count was around 2800 which is a little more than last week.  I think it might be because Cats was cancelled so people showed up for the magic show and he was only doing one show last night (he will do more later this week)

You do not need to pack towels when you go down to Perfect Day.  There are towel stations that you can sign out towels for on the island.  They have a clipboard BUT to avoid any confusion you should return the towels back to the same station so they can mark it off.  You can always pick up more towels at a different station when you move.

Day 2

Unfortunately I sat next to a lady at dinner time who complained about the strawberry trifle.  They used strawberry jello, cake and whipped cream in the trifle cup instead of strawberry jam.  I am used to the creative description on the menu and if I don’t like something I will either order something else or not eat it.  Not her, she made a point to tell the server that this is not a traditional trifle (the server does not even know what is a trifle other than what’s on the menu) he tried to offer her something else but she went on about a traditional trifle and said she will just eat the rest of her husband’s dessert and told him no.  You can’t win them all !  That will

probably be on the survey they fill out.

Noted:  Karens hate gelatin products too, apparently.   Tho, how "authentic" did she think any mass produced cruise ship dessert would be, anyway?   (And just for fun, you shoulda told her it wasn't real whipped cream, either!  LOL)

They don’t hand out towels when you get off the ship to Perfect Day but there are towel stations around the island that you can sign out towels just remember to return the towels to the same station to make it easier for them to keep track.  That’s the towel station by Oasis Lagoon.  There are a few more.

Hey...I see you over there.  Look to your port side!   You have company across the pier!  Though you beat us into Cozumel!  😉

Great review!  Heard you have Port Side BBQ...and is the only one in the fleet?  Did I miss pics of that?

Have a great time in Cozumel today!  🙂

I miss Oasis...she was our first O class ship many years ago ever since she was still new and home ported in PC.  🙂  Many fond memories!

I was NOT going to engage her.  When I sat down she said something about this is their first cruise so I said I hope there will be many more she said nope there are other places in the world she wants to see.  I was thinking where do you think this cruise is going?  I hope she knows she can leave the ship.   Right there I knew this was going to be a tough cookie to please.

Sure enough I was at the Solarium yesterday in the hot tub and she and her husband started to get in but the pool guy told them one of them has to come out due to capacity limitation.  She was crabby and not happy about that.

Hahahah!  I will be waving hello around noon time when I venture out.  Have been here so many times and been around the island so many times I just walk out on my own and walk back on.  There are only so many magnets I can buy 😂

Had the Portside BBQ last week.  The portion is huge but not a huge fan because I though the meat was very salty and dry.  The burnt ends were good but I think once is enough for me.  However someone else this week tried it and liked it.  Taste is subjective so if you have not tried it you might want to treat yourself especially if you have the UDP.

The amplified version is great!  Although I wish they added Wonderland.  This will be the ship I will be on the most this year.

I’ve been on Harmony so I have a good feel for how the boardwalk is now on oasis (with the slide), but I haven’t done the amped oasis.    We’ve done Allure and Oasis a bunch before Covid. Curious your opinion of whether you like the old version or the amped boardwalk better.  We are on allure next and I’m quite happy not to have the slide back there.

It is an OMG kind of a thing for first time cruiser or first time seeing it.  The kids loves it so I get it why Royal added that.  It would look nicer without it but personally I wouldn’t have add it to the ship.

My British MIL taught me to make it with strawberry jello [jelly!].

Thank you for your input!!!  I thought the traditional way was with jello.  We have lots of English folks onboard so I will ask them if I can remember.
