I don't think the Pilot has anything to do with the ship's speed.  It's the Officer at the control that would determine that with the advice of the Pilot, of course.

Yes we are on the Gertie Bryne's All Star Irish cruise on NS. We were dropped off at Pier 19 for a 'day of cruise' Covid testing. (in addition to the 2 day prior negative test requirement). We are required to wear masks indoors and if social distancing isn't possible outdoors. We were told by a bar staff member there are 1600-1700 onboard. Not sure if that's accurate as we also heard prior to sailing it was sold out. Irish music abounds the entire week aboard. It is our 4th time with this charter.
