I'm not a stranger to the Haven... but this I do not know for sure: we are sailing on the Prima in the Haven in February. We want to go to the Donna Summer show, which I believe is on 2 nights. But only the second nite has a late showing. Can I be pretty confident that the Concierge can help get us in that one late showing, or should I make a reservation to be sure? Maybe talk to him or her soon after the cruise starts? Normally I know they do that but I keep hearing that the shows fill up fast now. Advice please? And thank you!

If you are in the Haven there are seats held back for Haven cruisers. Just tell the concierge which show you want to go to and that's the show he will hold for you. Do it on the first day and your spot will be guaranteed.

OK, thanks. I did know that, I just wasn't sure because so many people said the show sells out and they could not get in. I'll tell the concierge.

Or, you could contact the pre-cruise concierge desk at

norwegianconciergedesk@ncl.com

Why take a chance?

The last few cruises , we were handed a list of the shows with times while we were in the Haven check in lounge. We filled it out while we were waiting to board and handed it in. Later that afternoon we received confirmation in our suite.

That is awesome! Hope we get that too, it’s nice to look at the shows as a list.  Easier to figure when/if you want to go. Thanks for the info.

On our recent Joy sailing a few weeks ago, the pre-cruise concierge wouldn’t book any shows. And all of the requests we gave them for room items were completely ignored, and we had to start from scratch with the butler, which was fine.

(Last year on the Breakaway we did get the room items we requested.)

Quick question.

Sailing on the Bliss Haven in a couple weeks. Our Daughter is also sailing with a friend in a non-Haven cabin.  Can we have her eat with us in the Haven Restaurant?  Just once or maybe twice.

If it's just once or twice, the concierge can give her permission to dine in the Haven but there is a fee.  IIRC it's like $50 per time.  Some times they will and sometimes they won't allow it.

Thank you.  The fee would be fine.

Be advised, I have no personal experience.  This is just what has been reported on this board.  It's often stated that it depends very much on the concierge.  If the concierge does allow, be sure and remember that at tipping time.

Is Adrian still around as a concierge in the Haven (he was our favorite) and he would sail with his sister the casino manager. I believe he started with the Joy in China when it went there.

Thank you.

Was on the Haven on the Escape one night, O’Sheehans had Chicken Parm as a special. Asked if we could get it in the Haven, no problem.  The moral ask the worst they can say is no and that isn’t in their vocabulary in the Haven.

This has been my experience too. I never bother anymore. I will, however, try booking restaurants through them since they emailed and called me to let me know they would be happy to do that. At least with that, it will show up on my cruise docs so I will know it has been done. Hopefully correctly...

Stefmaia- you will have a choice. Book with the concierge as we do while in the Haven boarding lounge or shortly after boarding ( there will be a sign on their desk). As for seating , you can sit in the Haven reserved seats on the left ,half way up from the stage or do as we do, go down 45 minutes before the show with the asst concierge or butler in the crew elevator and go into the theater in the secret passage near the stage and sit orchestra center third row. The reserved Haven seats are held until 10 minutes before the show and then released for the standing room crowd.

I've found the on-shore concierge desk to be most helpful in booking restaurants.  They will book as many as you prefer.  And, yes, the reservations do show up in your online account.  Every for items in the room have been made.

Don't do shows so don't know about those reservation.

The world need an "In and Out".  I am driving tomorrow to the Port of New Orleans for a NCL Breakaway Cruise out on Sunday.  I looked up if there was a "White Castle" on my way.  I know this is the dredge of burgers but I love them. No White Castle.  I know there will be no "In and Out".  So the moment I see a Steak and Shake, I am taking a pit stop.

Cruise well and enjoy every Burger.

Now you're speaking my language!  "White Castle", in my opinion, is the perfect food.  I live on Long Island but have a camper in upstate NY.  When I go up there, about a two hour drive, I go right past a White Castle.  Sometimes I'll stop and get a sack of ten for the trip.  It makes the time pass much faster and gives you added "motivation" to get there.  I used to have a White Castle about five minutes from where I live.  They closed down and I was ready to sell my house!  Now I have to drive about 30 minutes to get to the nearest one!  If that one closes I'll just kill myself!

P.S. I have a cruise coming up in September.  We are on Escape, in The Haven.  Since my Haven cruise last March on Breakaway, that's the only way I want to cruise!

When ever I head to either Vegas or LA for work or pleasure the first place I go off the place is In and Out. Drives my wife crazy Lol

When I go to Vegas or LA I always go to In and Out for burgers and fries, then I go to Lawry's for prime rib!  Either one is worth the trip!

The Good Mrs. Benson and I sailed on Joy this past September, as well, and in terms of Haven population, we had the same experience as yours.

The conventional "wisdom" in most of the commentaries after Norwegian Joy shifted some additional suites to Haven status was that the influx of now-Haven residents would fill the Haven past a comfortable capacity.  The lounges would be overcrowded, we were told, and there would be an extended wait to dine in the Haven Restaurant.

However, that opinion was wrong, at least as far as our cruise went.  We never had to wait to dine in the restaurant (well, once, we had to wait a whole two minutes, because the GMB wanted a table next to a window), and none of the other Haven spaces were ever crowded (except for, understandably, that morning of embarkation).  Always plenty of comfy chairs and loveseats, even at sailaway, and enough people with whom to socialise, if one wanted to, but not so many that one couldn't find a more private spot.

CDR, I have a question for you.  Are you actually in the NAVY?  The reason I ask may seem trivial to you, but to me it's like nails on the blackboard.  Is the ship "The Breakaway" or is it simply "Breakaway"?  I think it's just "Breakaway".  Ships are referred to in the feminine gender.  When referring to a lady it's "Mary", not the Mary.  Am I correct in assuming that?  You have to remember, I'm retired and have nothing else to think about!

Did the same especially on long drives. The onion "stench" kept you awake while driving and the sliders are darn good!

I'm no longer travelling like I used to but I did get one visit to Lawry's.  One of my top three restaurants.
