racj846 Posted February 16, 2022 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2022 (edited) Have cruises booked on the Diamond at the end of the year over the holidays. This is a sister ship to the Sapphire which does have an Int'l Cafe on deck 5, but the same location on the Diamond is the Shore Excursion desk. For those that have been on the Diamond, is there an equivalent to the Int'l cafe somewhere, or is Horizon Court the next best option. Cruise Wonderland Posted February 16, 2022 #2 Share Posted February 16, 2022 You are correct. There is no International Cafe nor any equivalent on Diamond Princess. You may go to the Horizon Court which is open from early morning to late evening. Diamond Princess is different from other Grand Class ships since it is targeted to the Japanese market. I practically LIVE at the coffee bar. Does that mean there's no new grounds coffee bar?
VibeGuy Posted February 17, 2022 #4 Share Posted February 17, 2022 There’s espresso drinks at the bar that is now Good Spirits and was formerly (La Patisserie?). Same same.

Ok, panic alleviated! I was going to have to go crazy ordering room service at all areas of the ship for my caffeine fix. Sounds similar to the Ruby, other than the good spirts was attached to the coffee bar, which was also attached to the international cafe. Thanks so much! On a side question, do you know where the smoking section(s) are? Yeah, I'm one of those.

e71465 Posted June 11, 2022 #7 Share Posted June 11, 2022 I have been on the Diamond but didn't realize there wasn't an international cafe! This hurts my heart as I dearly love to go there in the morning for coffee and pastry but I will have to go to the buffet. Dang...
rj59 Posted June 12, 2022 #8 Share Posted June 12, 2022 I'll be on the Diamond on September 1 (fortunately I cancelled the La Paz/Loreto one in September, after seeing the high last year was 100 degrees for those days). I'm looking forward to the concern from others and my show of bravery for choosing to cruise on the infamous Diamond. I know I joked about 'oh no we're all going to die' when I got on the Majestic in February and read that our cruise director Natalie was there on the infamous covid cruise. The lack of international cafe is sort of made up for by the presence of Izumi Japanese baths, since when I lived in Japan they were nekkid baths, and I'm not sure if I'd want see nekkid cruise people in a bath with me, or if I'd get screamed at or put in the brig should I choose to bathe Japanese style with men, even on the San Francisco stop. I believe there is a Churchill's bar close to the casino, deck 6 aft. I think there may be one side of one bar outside one deck above the pool, but I am not sure. mainecruisefan Posted February 7, 2023 #10 Share Posted February 7, 2023 Has anyone been on the Diamond Princess recently? I heard Princess was putting in machines that grind the beans at that the "free" coffee was pretty good these days. How is the "free" coffee in the Horizon Court these days? I am considering buying the Coffee card to get the unlimited free brewed coffee. Is this card worth it on the Diamond? Thanks

Fantastic fish quality!! hi L. I thought there was suppose to be a tray of goodies at the Good Spirits bar in the morning? I’m going to miss easy access to my Peanut Butter cookies. Thanks for your personal view of Kai, the fillet, and the lamb chops.
DesertDaisy Posted February 7, 2023 #13 Share Posted February 7, 2023 Just got off of Diamond on Sunday. Crooners Bar also had coffee drinks. The only cookies available were chocolate chip and lemon. No peanut butter.

On other ships the PB cookies are kept where only staff can get them for you due to peanut allergies some people might have.
