Earliest flight time out of Laguardia NY

Will be arriving NYC via the QM2 on May 15. Will be managing our own bags. 

Any suggestions on earliest "comfortable" flight time out of Laguardia (LGA) airport. 

We are looking at 11:00AM and 1:00PM possible flights to Chicago.

For Walkoff , 11am risky , 1pm no problem.

Cunard air can’t be booked for an LGA flight before 11:30am.

Hi Jack. If you are self disembarking you should be able to make the 11 as it is a Sunday (barring any special events that might make traffic worse) When we have Cunard make our reservations to fly out of LGA to O’Hare they always choose the 1:00 flight. We end up waiting hours in the   Airline club .

Of course the 1:00PM flight is more expensive but I think we will go with that and not be stressing out about it the whole crossing.

Just be ready with a "plan b"... We were three hours late arriving into NYC this morning. We were finally tied up about 0930, but we didn't get off the ship till 1130. We used a porter to help with our luggage, which allowed us to go to the front of the CBP line.

 

There was a line for taxis; we got an Uber which picked us up at 1230, and got us to LGA at 1300... We just made our 1405 flight.

A small dose of reality goes a long way …

I never plan on public transportation out of NYC on arrival day earlier than 2 pm. Toss in a snow storm, heavy rain or any special unknown NYC event and that can not work. Best to actually plan a stay over and head out the next day. Why ruin a great relaxing cruise with a high stress exit.

Good question.  We've got an 11:30am flight out of LGA on our return and will hope to hustle off the ship and get to the airport via taxi in time.  If not, oh well guess we'll look to get rebooked and home at some time.  After two glorious weeks at sea, a little inconvenience hopefully won't sour the experience.
