Ride share or taxi to Fort Lauderdale airport from pier

When we get off the ship in Fort Lauderdale, I wondered if it is better to just get a taxi or schedule a ride share to get to the airport.  We'll need a vehicle that can hold four adults plus luggage.  We won't be in a hurry since our flight isn't until 1:00.

You can do either, there isn't really a "better". For taxi you need to communicate that you need a larger vehicle. A SUV or van taxi will be assigned to you.

Taxi or UberXL should be about the same fare to FLL - $20

Taxis will be lined up at the terminal.  The price of a van taxi is the same as a sedan.  Just tell the dispatcher at the taxi line that you want a van.
