Embarkation was a breeze - total time 15-20 minutes max. Had a 12:30 boarding time and was on the ship at 12:26.

Rooms were ready upon boarding. Went by Muster Station and completed drill - 5 minutes tops.

Pleased with my stateroom. Didn’t win my bids for a suite but my balcony cabin is not shabby. Had a box of Evian water and cookies waiting for me. Nice deep balcony. Heading to WJ now.

I had to beg for a PAPER cruise compass - no longer in the cabins upon boarding or anywhere on the ship. They are hidden in a desk drawer like a hot commodity.  They really want everyone to use the App instead. Here’s Day 1.

So first snag of the day:  I purchased the UDP and was hoping to have lunch at Chops or Giovanni’s but none of the specialty restaurants are open for lunch.  Went by the WJ to check things out. It looks good and not too crowded. Will go back up later.

Lots of choices at WJ. I opted for Mahi Mahi, Seafood Paella and a mixed salad. Pinot Grigio de rigeur against a backdrop of Biscayne Bay and Downtown Miami. Can’t complain!!

That balcony looks like it is one of the deck 7 balconies that are a little deeper.

 

From the pictures it looks like the Windjammer has gone back to self service.

Yes - deck 7. Windjammer still not fully self service yet. Only the drinks are serve yourself.

At Giovanni’s Table - everything is delizioso! The Danzante Pinot is molto bene! I’m leaving here speaking fluent Italiano! 
 

For starters I had the Mozzarella Di Bufala ( Hierloom tomatoes, mozzarella and fresh basil. Next the Risotto AI Quattro Funghi (Arborio rice, wild mushroom, mascarpone, truffle oil) and the Gamberetti Alla Ligure (Grilled prawns, cherry tomatoes, garlic butter, Italian herbs, potato purée). Tutti Fantastico!!!

 

No room for dessert.
