Rare scubacruiserx2 Posted February 24, 2022 Author #54 Share Posted February 24, 2022 Thursday , February 9th was a day at sea and the day of our CC meet and Greet . One thing that we noticed with the cabin was how small the cabin felt because of the additional bathrooms and the door placement . If you had business to do , opening the door in the necessary room may jam you if using the desk in the living room . While opening the door in shower room could have you banging some one if they were using the closet - so be careful . After breakfast we noticed that some banners had appeared overnight .

Thank you . The Enchanted is a pretty lady in tip top condition and Take Five was classy with plenty of room . But I didn't understand why they didn't locate it on Deck 5 or maybe call it Take 6 as it's located on Deck 6 . 😉
Rare scubacruiserx2 Posted February 24, 2022 Author #58 Share Posted February 24, 2022 (edited) A day at sea was a chance to try one of the specialty restaurants - The Salty Dog . We had hoped with the clear weather that most of the people on the cruise would be upstairs and they were . We started with the menus and the ships announcements came on at noon . I'm deaf in one ear so it helps me to use the cc closed captions on the video and I would recommend using them on the ship's announcements . Live music was being played in the Plaza and after ordering nature had it's way and so I took my pocket camera with me . I wanted to be an architect in high school so house , buildings and ship design is still a big interest in my life . Anyway does anyone else find the paper towel placement in the restroom odd ? At the wash basin was Kleenex on the wall but you had to walk several steps to the exit to reach the hand towels to dry off . The restrooms were across the Plaza and a little walk which was fortunate as I got to see and record a lot of the Marriage of Figaro on the way back . The starter was up when I got back Our cubby hole We had a really nice chat with our server who was from Mexico - one of our favorite places to dive . Pat's choices for lunch . Lobster Mac and Cheese My choices And the Ernesto Burger deconstructed The strings were playing one of our favorite songs in the background . When we saw Paul Mc Cartney and Wings in concert unfortunately Pat missed it on a bathroom break . Lobster chunk in the Mac After the strings went on break one of my favorite songs came on the jukebox . It was as if we were teleported back to a malt shop back in Spring of 1961 . Rare scubacruiserx2 Posted February 25, 2022 Author #59 Share Posted February 25, 2022 (edited) Before boarding ship we purchased some Champagne at a Total Wine store hoping to get something nice for the anniversary at a price better than the ship's price . Because of the holidays our favorite Dom Perignon was sold out . Instead we were going to try some Tsarina . Staying on the anniversary theme I had hoped to pre - purchase some flowers before leaving . I found no such option on the Princess website . We met with Darko to see what he could do and also discussed dining options . We found that we shouldn't ask Darko to do anything that we didn't really want as he would really try to make it happen with all his passion and influence . Thus the flowers were ordered and he helped us try to pursue The Winemaker's dinner and /or the Chef's Table . Unfortunately the Ultimate Balcony Dinner no longer exists - at least on the Enchanted . At our meeting before lunch we were so busy that unfortunately we had to miss our M & G meeting in Take Five . We had not been thrilled with the choker type of holder given to us when we received our medallions so we bought a different holder at their kiosk on the Promenade deck . After lunch the Wake Show was really nice as we settled into our cruise ( meaning that we took a nap ) . Afterwards we awoke to an afternoon tea break . Reina del Mar Posted February 25, 2022 #60 Share Posted February 25, 2022 Amazing photos. Thanks for the info regarding shore excursions…would you be able to explain what ‘port sponsored excursions’ means please ? Our itinerary has been changed and some of the ports do not seem to allow passengers ashore without a Princess excursion. Many thanks.

Our itinerary has been changed and some of the ports do not seem to allow passengers ashore without a Princess excursion. Many thanks. Thank you . We are not quite sure what Port sponsored excursions meant We were concerned when we first read this as we had booked all independent tours . At first glance it seemed that St. Lucia and Barbados may be questionable to independent tours. We were assured by our guides that they were Government approved and it wouldn't be a problem . Barbados showed us what we think it all means . Princess of course allowed was allowed to be closest to the ship but we all still had to walk through a mall , make a U turn and walk back towards where we began but on the other side the length of the mall a second time . A that point was the Princess tours , followed by the Port Authorized tours ( those people who could meet you inside of the port ) . Our independent guide not come inside of the port to meet us - but they did allow her inside of the port to drop us off after the tour . Rare scubacruiserx2 Posted February 25, 2022 Author #64 Share Posted February 25, 2022 (edited) A tv exercise . While looking at the Restaurant menu we found that they had the wine that we wanted so we phoned to make sure that they had it - which they did . It was the same price as Total Wine but you didn't have to pay a corkage fee . It was a 2008 which was a better vintage then the Total Wine 2010 . We went done and picked it up - already chilled . Rare scubacruiserx2 Posted February 25, 2022 Author #65 Share Posted February 25, 2022 (edited) Dinner at the Bistro Sur La Mer The dining area is located in a busy area on the busy Promenade Deck on the Piazza . There are no doors so the area is loud . We asked to be seated near the kitchen in a quite alcove . Le Menu Le baguette Polenta Fries and Goat cheese olives The Escargot was unlike any that we've had before . It was chopped escargot mixed with butter a rolled in Panko and fried . When I bit into it hot butter , snail and oil slimed the front of my trousers . We let them cool a bit before popping the ball in our mouth and chewing keeping our mouths closed . Duck that Pat said was a bit tough Potato au Gratin This is what French Fried Fish and Chips looks like Edited February 25, 2022 by scubacruiserx2

Rare scubacruiserx2 Posted February 25, 2022 Author #70 Share Posted February 25, 2022 (edited) After dinner we went up and changed clothes and cameras and went up top for a walk . It was nice and there were no crowds . We then went up a flight to the Sky deck where it was really windy Beneath the BIG screen We suspect that the wind blew everybody away and it did blow us down stairs to the Sea Walk Tomorrow was Saint Thomas - a port that we haven't been to in 20 years . I'm not sure why the Princess Patter looks so fuzzy here but it looks good on my computer screen . Rare scubacruiserx2 Posted February 26, 2022 Author #71 Share Posted February 26, 2022 (edited) Sailing into Saint Thomas Our breakfasts in Sabatini's had been less than stellar in terms of atmosphere , service and menu , so we decided to try the Club Class in the Capri MDR . It was significantly better there in all respects and they had a daily special . As we anchored we liked watching the boats coming and going from all around the world like the Superyacht Kismet . I noticed that on an aft deck that some of the crew members were very much in shipshape . The ship is owned by Shahid Kahn who is a Pakistani-American billionaire businessman and sports tycoon. He is the owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League (NFL) . It has a charter price of $1.2 million per week, excluding food, fuel and dockage costs.[8][2] In mid-2018, the yacht was rented by Jay-Z and Beyoncé during a vacation to Italy.[8] Wikipedia Edited February 26, 2022 by scubacruiserx2

Rare scubacruiserx2 Posted February 26, 2022 Author #75 Share Posted February 26, 2022 (edited) The itinerary of our cruise Saint Thomas was $ 200 more than any other private guild which was too much for us . All we really cared to see was the view overlooking the harbor but we couldn't find much information of how to get there . We found a map later and wish that we would have walked there in hindsight. We did enjoy the view of the Harbor and Lunch . We did go on the deck later and could see the overlook to Paradise Point Aft elevator for the wheelchairs .
