SherriZ366 Posted February 21, 2022 #1 Share Posted February 21, 2022 Just watched Wonder of the Seas approach Port Everglades and sail pas the Jetty. She was all lit up -- public rooms and cabins. The fireboats were spraying water. She looked beautiful. Now she is docked at RCI's Terminal. 🥰😍

PTAngel Posted February 21, 2022 #8 Share Posted February 21, 2022 I only saw 1 fire boat with their water spraying. There weren't many people to greet it either. It was disappointing compared to when Odyssey of the Seas arrived. Of course, it didn't help that it came in after dark.
Cienfuegos Posted February 21, 2022 #9 Share Posted February 21, 2022 The ship apparently posed for pictures with Infinity prior to arrival at the jetty, which took a while. The shore cam showed at least one helicopter out there. Great night arrival!

The two newest ships that close together was something RCI couldn't pass up. Infiniti may have taken pics too, but the delay in docking was for the two newest to get a great photo op. 🙂

Snapped a couple of quick pics with the phone, one normal and one zoom (resolution on CC not as crisp as JPG). ticketsunlimited Posted February 21, 2022 #16 Share Posted February 21, 2022 Good momentum for the cruise industry going on right now. Let’s hope it will continue through the year. They really have been through the wringer. So encouraging to see these pictures and videos.

Port Everglades isn’t a great port for spectators unless you live in one of the nearby condos. It’s a bit of an effort to get into the limited viewing areas. The sea wall in the state park remains closed after it was damaged by a hurricane several years ago. Contrast that with Port Canaveral where it’s relatively easy to line the Southern shore in places like Jetty Park. Port Canaveral is a much more user friendly port for the general public while Port Everglades is closed to the general public since it’s a major fuel depot. You can only get it if you are sailing that day. Edited February 21, 2022 by twangster
