Orange Party.

No interest to me.  This "Orange" stuff began during Orlando's watch and I wonder how long this "party" and Club Orange will last.

Are the drinks included in the $15 charge?  It also mentions an 18% gratuity so maybe not.   Let us know what the feedback is on this activity!

Yes.  Drinks are included.   They will probably be mass produced along the lines of a pitcher of margaritas.

We are thinking about this cruise for Oct. 2022. What happens if someone tests positive? Are you quarantined in your cabin, another “special” cabin, or taken off the ship?

I don’t know what the protocol will be in Oct.

Right now you are not quarantined in your room, but in a section of the ship set up for that.  No idea what the protocol would be in October.

I thought the Pancetta, Ham Hock Broth to be an unusual type of sauce for this dish.  Did it work well in your opinion?

The menu for this dinner appeals more to me than the menu for the Cellar Master's Dinner.

Yes -- it was wonderful - tasted better than it sounds

We have always received a 5-star Mariner discount when dining in the Pinnacle.  No discount for Pinnacle Gala?

Ray

It has been awhile since I have booked such special dinners.  (Too much food and wine--specifically the Cellar Master's Dinner.)  I don't recall that their was the Mariner discount.  Regardless, these dinners are "events" if one enjoys such types.  Informative when the Cellar Master and/or Chef speak about what we are enjoying, the ambiance and service, and enjoying the company of other guests who are there because they share your same interests in such an evening.

I guess I am different from most.  If I had the choice of having to wear a suit and pay $284 for my DW and I to go to dinner or just dress casually and go to the MDR for free, I know what I and my DW would choose.  It is kind of like buying a bottle of merlot for $22. or paying $220.  One may be better, but ten times better?

That's what's great about cruising.  Everyone can find something to do that they enjoy!

Yes!  Imagine what cruising would be like if every ship was the same and everyone was required to do the same thing every day.

I have really been enjoying this thread.

Been following along your journey and have loved every minute of it!

I did read (on a Princess thread talking about covid outbreak) that the Zuiderdam is experiencing a bit of that as well.

I did check the CDC color monitoring website and it shows the Zuiderdam is back in the orange.    Are you noticing anything?

There are several people we know in the 5 day COVID quarantine wing.   No numbers announced or any other public statements or change in policies.    The ones we talked to say they are being treated well considering the circumstances.

We heading back to San Diego.   7 sea days.    Spotty internet as we are in an area not often used by marine traffic based on my amateur observation on Marine tracker.
