Differences in Platinum program - pre and post covid?

Wondering what I need to know about the Platinum program since the pandemic?

First cruise since covid coming up.

What I have read from previous posts on this subject the perks are all there just the trinkets you get vary due to supply issues, but you still get a trinket.

There is a QR code to scan in your cabin. You have to fetch some perks, they're not left in your cabin. Pixels: pickup Platinum/Diamond gift and ship pin. Get big bottle of water at any bar. $25 cash/chips/credit from Casino cashier since slots tourney suspended. Cherry On Top for chocolate covered strawberries. Priority embarkation suspended but you get 2 day head start for online check-in. Free drink in there somewhere, should be credit on your folio to cover free drink.

its strange that carnival is not placing the items in your room right away compare to other cruise lines like NCL that are still putting all of the platinum items in your room

They may at some point. However, they are probably seeing some savings as many may skip getting one or more perks.

I think this is totally true.  I know on the cruise we just got off of we only got (ordered) one chocolate delight, instead of the 2 we usually would get in the cabin.  After seeing the platinum gift (drink coozie) we only got one of them.   We didn't do sea day brunch, so "wasted" 2 drinks we didn't get in dining room.  Many people we spoke with were not going on the scavenger hunt needed for the items no longer given in the cabin.

You have to call room service to get your chocolate covered strawberries.

That's weird because we never received more than one before Covid.  It doesn't really matter to me because I don't like strawberries.

We were on Freedom end of January.  Called room service, and they delivered 2 chocolate delights as they said there were 2 Plats in cabin.    On Horizon (last week) we called up and they only delivered one, even though they knew there were 2 Plats in the cabin.  Guess it is hit and miss!

On the Freedom last week, the Diamond/Platinum party lasted at most 25 minutes. They could not get us out fast enough. Said it was a schedule conflict.

I agree!  I'm not a fan of the scavenger hunt Carnival is forcing us to do.  IMO they could very well gather everything together and place them in the cabins, makes no sense to me that they're not doing that (except for the chocolate covered strawberries)!
