Footwear for Inclement Weather Baltics

Going on a May Baltic sailing and looking for good shoes to wear in port. Since it's a bit cooler and likely to rain, looking for a boot with good traction. Something that looks a little polished but wouldn't be destroyed if they became wet. I am on the shorter side, so many of the booties in fashion now cut me to make me look stumpy.

I don’t look to fashionable shoes if I’m going to be out in the rain.  My shoes for excursions (rain or not) is usually a pair of light, waterproof hiking shoes.  They have excellent traction (especially on wet cobblestones) and support my foot well.  My current ones are Keen, but I have worn Merrill’s as well.  I can verify that when it poured in Naples last fall, the only place that got wet was from the bottom of my raincoat to the top of my shoes.

You really need a good pair of hiking boots for the cobblestones and dirt trails. Nobody cares what they look like.

A good pair of hiking shoes (NOT BOOTS) will work just fine.
