We just used an ancient one (our last one) to book a Sept cruise.  Our TA had to work with a supervisor at Royal to figure out how to apply it.  While the cruise showed a $750 deposit needed to book, the $200 deposit from the NCC was accepted and we don't owe the balance until final payment.  We also got the $100 OBC.
