My absolutely favorite spot is the Rome board in the Cruise Critic's Ports of Call section. 😜  But also...Have you DL'd the Rick Steves app?  That is AWESOME.  Good talks, some walking tours, and more FOR FREE.  His book about Rome has all that good stuff, too!

I second all of this.  And in his book he's got some tours he calls out as being really good--and gives you a discount code to book them.

It's our first time also! I have been looking up videos on youtube   Rick Steves is very informative as well as others.  It's amazing how much info is on youtube lol and no folks shaming on your posts.  Happy hunting!

Besides visiting the Vatican, Coloseum, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, etc. (so many amazing sites in Rome), our group did a four-hour bike tour a few years ago before we boarded Jewel of the Seas.  They were electric bikes so a bit easier on the pavement.  We did the Appian Way tour and it was great fun.  And one night we took a pizza/gelato making class.  After making the pizza & gelato, we had a great dinner party.  If either of those sound interesting, I can look up the tour companies that we used and pass that info along to you.

BTW, we stayed at Hotel Genio near Piazza Navona; we were able to walk to all of the sites that we wanted to visit.

This sounds like great fun! We only have a day in Rome (big mistake on our part) before the cruise, but next time, we'll definitely do the bike and pizza/gelato making class.
