Does Princess use Manhatten or Brooklyn Cruise Terminal?

On my cruise summary page it lists both?  Trying to figure out a hotel and this is confusing me.  🤫

In 2018, it was Brooklyn.

Brooklyn.  We have a cruise in August scheduled to leave from there.

The general rule is if the itinerary starts or ends in NYC (or in your cases is RT from NYC) the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal is used.  If NYC is just a port stop, Manhattan.  However as they say, YMMV. 😉

The few times we have been to NYC on a cruise ship it has always been the Brooklyn terminal.

Thanks for input, everyone.  Would be a lot easier if they'd just clearly state which terminal on the reservation.  🤭

 

Now my next question, if we are flying in the day before, does anyone have recommendations for hotel nearby?

The official website for the NYC cruise terminals, nycruise.com, has the schedule and terminal location for all of the cruise ships, Princess is scheduled for Brooklyn this season. I believe they say either terminal just in case of last-minute changes. As far as hotels go NYC hotels are $$$$$$$$$$. My suggestion is to try Lower Manhattan as it is a fairly quick taxi/Uber ride to the terminal.

We would probably opt to stay in lower Manhattan and just take a taxi to the terminal in Brooklyn

There's a flat fee for taxi ride from the import into Manhattan

The terminal is  Red Hook in Brooklyn

It is my understanding that for all embarkation/disembarkation Princess calls, Brooklyn Red Hook is the terminal used with the exception that if the Queen Mary 2 is in NY, she gets the Brooklyn terminal.

PS We have sailed into Brooklyn Red Hook on Princess a few times, and out of Brooklyn Red Hook on Queen Mary 2 on one occasion. Always a great experience. By the way, the berth is off the Buttermilk Channel and there is a restaurant by the same name nearby in the Carroll Gardens neighborhood.
