deek05 Posted April 7, 2022 #1 Share Posted April 7, 2022 We've cruised with Disney and Royal Caribbean (RC). We liked the promenade on RC having Sorrentos and the Cafe Promenade for "included" quick food options. Disney has a few places also. We were recently looking at MSC and it looks like Main Dining and the Buffet are the only similar options. What other cruise lines have something similar? And, for sea days, do any have movie theaters besides Disney? Thanks
hallux Posted April 7, 2022 #2 Share Posted April 7, 2022 NCL usually has an MDR (some ships have as many as 3, 2 of which could be open for lunch), the buffet and then O'Sheehan's or The Local (depends on the ship). All of those are included, and you can get some pretty good burgers, wings or a Reuben at The Local/O'Sheehan's. The Local/O'Sheehan's is the 'almost 24 hour' venue, there are some brief periods where it's closed for switching from one dining period to another. Rare LHT28 Posted April 7, 2022 #3 Share Posted April 7, 2022 What does the Promenade Cafe consist of? We have never sailed RCL
leaveitallbehind Posted April 7, 2022 #4 Share Posted April 7, 2022 (edited) 32 minutes ago, LHT28 said: What does the Promenade Cafe consist of? We have never sailed RCL The Café Promenade - which is a light dining venue on RCCL ships with what is called the Royal Promenade - is a free venue with light snacks, sandwiches, and deserts that also serves coffer and tea. It is open early to late for those wanting to grab something quick anytime during the day. On other ships without the Royal Promenade it is called Café Latitudes. There are other free venues as well on the ships for pizza (Sorento's, as mentioned by the OP) and other lunch to light dining fare options as well. But the Café Promenade and Café Latitudes are typically conveniently centrally located on a mid-ship pubic deck. Nebr.cruiser Posted April 8, 2022 #6 Share Posted April 8, 2022 We enjoy the International Cafe on Princess ships too. Open 24 hours with usually meat pies and quiches, sandwiches, all of which are warmed up, salads and desserts. O'Sheehan's on NCL is okay too.
