Platinum reward benefit

Hello

I see that one of the benefits of being a platinum tier is “ concierge service to assist you with specialty restaurant, entertainment and shore excursion reservations,”.
Would anyone know if Is this prior to boarding or while onboard? If this is prior do I call NCL? If it’s onboard where is it?

thank you so  much!

You should have a welcome letter in your cabin from your concierge that includes a phone number.  You can call him/her for any assistance you need.  As for concierge assistance prior to cruising, IIRC that's only for Haven or Suite guests.  But your PCC may be able to assist.

Hahaha, well said.  Bingo ... ditto here.

Last time we received a welcome back letter onboard (Day 1) with a phone # or "contact" extension # to call for priority assistance in dining, not quite near-concierge services was probably 5 years ago ... and, no name was given - turns out to be a re-direct or call-forwarding to Latitude/CruiseNext desk.  I don't recall getting a pre-cruise letter or notification to expect & actually "invited" to use similar services.

Nowadays, and most recently, things haven't changed last month for Sapphire members either ... but, if you are lucky enough to attend CC's onboard Meet & Greet and get a hold of the names, their handy phone's extension, like the GM's #28888 or his/her secretary or assistant's direct line, or maybe the F&B manager's extension - or head of Guest Services, etc. - you could reach out to them if you are really in a situation.  But, almost all the times - I prefer not to "trouble" them & just dial 00 or whatever, only escalate if & when, as a last resort.

We have sailed many, many times as a platinum member and have never been given access to a concierge. I think, may be once, I got a phone number from Cruise Next.

I was annoyed last week because we were not given priority disembarkation on the Encore. On our prior post-restart cruise on the Encore, we were given a meeting point at the Cavern Club and were escorted down a crew elevator to the front of the security line. It was still a messy mob, but at least we were at the front of the mob versus being way, way in the back.

That is because your priority disembarkation on the Encore was a one off.  We are ambassador and have never been given PD on any cruise that we were not in an actual suite.

We just booked, last minute, a Family Suite on the Joy, for its extra space & bathroom for DW and self, sister-in-law with her own bedroom, for a great price. Not expecting much of anything, since our Sapphire tier should get us somewhere sailing Bermuda well below full capacity early next month. To our surprise, got an email welcome letter with a sentence about accessing pre-cruise assistance.

We are probably going to book a 2nd one as soon as extended family figure out whether they wanted to add a 4th person to their booking.  Don't care for a butler or concierge, just a good room steward to keep things neat, tidy & clean and we will be happy happy for the week.

We have always had access to concierge since becoming platinum. It has never been an issue. Not sure why others are having issues ....

We have been Platinum, Platinum Plus and now Diamond and have never been offered concierge access.   Can you tell us in what manner you have been offered access?

Have a great time.  Saw Joy doing some Bermuda and NE/Canada trips.  Even a four day to Bermuda.  Maybe a mail run?

Joy is one ship I've been trying to go on but has not worked out.

How about doing a fall lobster report on Joy?

There has been a letter in my cabin, with the name and phone number. I have used it on occasion to make dinner reservations when I could not get in to a restaurant on my own.

I'm glad to hear they have done that for you.   Do you remember what ships that has been on?   For the last few years we have been cruising on the larger ships.  With so many on board, we just haven't felt like Platinum Plus (now Diamond) has given us any special notice.

Just wondering if you are getting this letter with concierge number on the Jewel class smaller ships?

As someone earlier said I'M PLATINUM as well.  Was wondering about the concierge service for this exact reason Was thinking before reading this thread about going over and tipping the Concierge at the beginning of the cruise just to see if it would help.

Just got off the Pearl (Jewel class). We are Platinum, book through CAS, and were in a club balcony suite. No letter. No phone number. Nothing to direct us to an "alleged" concierge that many refer to, but few have had contact with!

If you're not in a suite, where would you go to find a concierge to tip him/her? Also, what could he/she do for you that you couldn't do yourself? Just wondering.

Depending on your latitudes status (I'm Diamond) you can visit Cruise Next if you need concierge services.  Sometimes it's something they can help with but I have been given concierge's number on Getaway and Gem from them.

No Latitudes letters in my cabins giving me concierge name and number whether Jewel class, bigger, smaller.

They do list it as a perk for Diamond (didn't check others) so it really should be info given freely and to cabin without asking but my experience has been ask in person.

Remember concierge not part of the DSC so any tips are optional and extra.  Depends how much you might lean on them to do your dining, shows, entertainment, etc.  They are really busy with Haven guests so I've not really utilized concierge much.
