Is it normal to lose your OBC with a price drop?

I had some OBC and realized it's now gone since I called to reprice my cruise after I noticed it had gone down.

 

The agent never mentioned anything.

What was the obc from? Some sales included obc which is part of the price you are matching. Or maybe $50 obc for early booking and now the time period isnt early any more.

 

Depends what the obc was from. Usually you have to decide if it's worth it to lose the obc to reprice.

I'm not even sure LOL. It may have been from booking early...I booked in October 2021, cruise leaves July 2022.  

 

The price drop was more than the OBC, I just didn't realize it would be lost. I went to book Izumi thinking I could use some of the OBC and it was no where to be found.

Often it is normal to lose your OBC, but they should definitely have talked to you about it.

I was always told and read if i rebook for a lower price you would lose your OBC, so always asked before you rebook for a lower price.

Iv got burnt with new fees on the TA also

In general, when you rebook - for any reason - your new booking is with whatever offers and inducements are in effect at that time.

Literally never had a cruise fare go down so in my excitement I didn't even think to ask.

Next Cruise OBC should remain.  Promotional OBC that was included when you last repriced or booked originally will be lost because that promotion is probably not available anymore.

I've also repriced and gained OBC I didn't have before because the current promotion included OBC and my original booking promotion didn't, so it does work both ways.

Yeah, on the same booking I gained it on one reprice, then lost it on another reprice.
