wikoffclan Posted May 10, 2022 #26 Share Posted May 10, 2022 I never received any Great offers until I started playing slots. Black Jack didn't result in any offers. My "best offer" was $25 for Interior for an Australia cruise with $300 AUD of OBC. Cost of airfare and Covid restrictions made it less than desirable. I'm wondering how much Casino play is needed to come up with a "free offer". I don't allot more than $200 for casino play and usually come back with most of that.

So basically only the $172 in port fees. Plus free drinks in the casino. Casino gambling deal. Totally different animal.

I want to know how yall get those! Is it through the casino? Probably. The majority of the offers being boasted about are casino deals, which are a totally different animal. I want to hear about regular deals given to people from coast to coast. They are not to be found though. The deals are either casino driven or specifically pinpointed to a certain demographic, like west coasters that get deals on the Panorama or the radiance or to Alaska. Still would love to know how the algorithm chose who got the RU 1-2-3 codes for reduced priced Cheers.
TerReuv Posted May 10, 2022 #30 Share Posted May 10, 2022 We were originally booked to sail in October of 2020 in a balcony on the Lido deck of the Breeze) and that one got cancelled (we were paid in full). So, we re-booked for October 2022 on the Horizon. At that time, here were a bunch of promos for the drink package included. We ended up with a balcony on the Lido on the Horizon for a Halloween cruise with Cheers for both of us. End price was $759/pp - $1518. This was $600 less than our original booking on the Breeze. Due to already being paid in full, we now have OBC of $1279. Happily, they started allowing you to use OBC to make reservations before the cruise so I have already booked us the Steakhouse and a massage for myself using the credit. I think this is the pricing we paid for our first cruise in 2011 on the Fascination. Doubt we will ever get a deal like that again.

I want to know how yall get those! Is it through the casino? I got a great deal to Alaska on the Spirit for June (offer was for other dates, too) and I believe I got it from playing Bingo the last day of my previous cruise. The offer even came in and said "BINGO", you've scored a great deal. . . or something like that. I got a balcony for $135 +tax/fees pp and $100 OBC pp. the other offers were as low at $70 for a balcony, but I couldn't go in May. I had airline tickets still needing to be used from cancelling during 2020, so it was a no brainer for me to jump on the deal. 🙂 Oh, and I don't play in the casino at all. AQW Posted May 11, 2022 #33 Share Posted May 11, 2022 My $550 solo bowling alley balcony for the 12-night Europe sailing was not a casino deal (I've never gambled in a Carnival casino). It was the Alaska/Europe VIFP deal from last month. I booked Alaska at a great rate too (6 nights, 2 people, bowling alley balcony, $875 with $200 OBC) but I don't think I'll ever beat that Europe deal.

Megan_Strick Posted May 12, 2022 #40 Share Posted May 12, 2022 I booked the Elation Porthole for 5 days as a solo in Sept for $504. Got an email about an upgrade offer to a balcony for $190. I debated on it for 2 weeks and when I went to finally accept the offer the price went down to $130!
Sugar67 Posted May 12, 2022 #41 Share Posted May 12, 2022 (edited) We got a 7 day on the Carnival Celebration for $1948 USD for 2, extended balcony including Cheers for both of us. We have $700 OBC as well but that is from a previously cancelled cruise and a shareholders benefit. We haven't cruised since February 2020 so November can't come fast enough! cmukid87 Posted May 12, 2022 #42 Share Posted May 12, 2022 My offer was when Carnival Journey's cruises were just starting to sail. $25/pp to sail and included $200obc/pp. This included all Journey's cruises at the time anywhere from 9-14 days. Unfortunately my wife and I had just gotten back from a 7 day sailing and we have a house full of kids so we couldn't leave them for that long.

Old Fart Cruisers Posted May 12, 2022 #47 Share Posted May 12, 2022 B2B 1/15/23 & 1/22/23 on the new Carnival Celebration Eastern/Western Caribbean. $100 PP deposit per week with $200 per stateroom OBC for mid-ship balconies (two non-connecting rooms next to each other on deck 14), same room both weeks. Could have chosen extended balconies or Premium-View extended balconies (foreword facing), but would have to change rooms for the second week and there were not two rooms available close together. Also includes drinks on us anywhere on board, and $200 CasinoCash.
BubbaD123 Posted May 12, 2022 #48 Share Posted May 12, 2022 Sailed solo on the Valor in March, paid about $350 all-in(fare, fees & gratuities). Sailed solo on the Paradise in April, paid $260 all-in(fare, fees & gratuities). Will sail solo on the Magic next week, paid $323 all-in(fare, fees & gratuities) but includes $100 OBC. All of them 5-night cruises with two ports of call. Never touched the casino. I'm waiting for a job to start, and it's cheaper than staying in hotels. A Motel 6 is about 75 with tax these days, and it don't include no food.

Were any of your deals for any cruises east of the Mississippi or were they on the Panorama, Radiance or to Alaska since that is where the west coasters get deals to. I live in the Northeast, have cruised Carnival 20 times since 1986 and currently have 7 cruises booked on the Excel Class. Have never gotten a free deal or anything close to a free deal. I had several great offers from the east coast as well. Carnival may well be confused because I just relocated to Phoenix at the very beginning of the pandemic, so all of my previous cruises have been from the east coast (have cruised this side since the restart, though). I also rec'd great offers on the Australia and Europe cruises as well. And our best offers were under my husbands number - sometimes mine were the same but most of the time they were not as good as his offers. Try as we might I don't think there is any way to figure out the algorithm being used - though I can't help thinking that if you have 7 cruises booked they really have no incentive to offer you anything special at all. I had 0 cruises booked when I received these offers.
