Parking in miami for cruise

It has been a long time since i sailed out of miami.dDriving down from orlando.Is it best to park at port or are there other options like port canaveral.How much to park at port of miami?Thanks for any imformation..

The safest place to park your vehicle is at the Port Of Miami. The parking is reasonable, safe and secure. In almost every case you will return to a vehicle in the same condition that you left it. Too many posts over the years of vehicles being damaged at parking lots in the downtown Miami area. In one case cruise passengers returned from there voyage to find a homeless male sleeping in there vehicle. Many instances of shoddy shuttle service too. Outside lots in Port Everglades, Port Canaveral and Tampa are reasonable, safe and secure. Not so for Miami.

Another vote for parking at the Port.  When doing so, study the map of the Port so that you have as clear as possible of an idea where you want to go.  As a first time driver to the Port, the signage was poor and the traffic chaotic.  Having an idea of what to expect and where to go was helpful for me.

The current rate is $22 a day, twice or more the rate of most off-port parking.

You are paying for convenience and safety.  We wouldn't park anywhere else.

This is great information.  Twice we've rented one-way cars to get to Miami and stayed overnight.  Now I see there was no reason to do this.  If we manage to sail this winter, we'll definitely drive to the port and park.
