Testing requirement for July 1st and beyond?

Does anyone know when they will announce the testing requirement for after June 30th? That's all their current requirement goes towards, according to the phone rep.  It's stressful, so of course, I'd like them to stop (actually I'd REALLY like them to stop for just my party, and test the rest of the ship, but I'd also like the casino to give me $5 million and I think that's more likely).  I also would like to know when to buy the emed kits, so I'm hoping they won't leave the decision until the last minute.

The US tends to have 2 waves of increased cases of Covid every year, June/July and December/January. These patterns are normal as it tends to be when people are intermingling and traveling more often. As you can tell, cases across the US are currently on the rise and we are seeing more and more posts of people testing positive on board. Just assume the testing will be required, as it will be highly unlikely that the testing requirement will be removed by the end of June.

Usually announce about 30-days before.      Just assume the testing will remain in place and you should order your kits about 1 to 2 weeks before your cruise and not wait until the last minute as there have been some reports of shipping delays or an occasional out of stock since everyone is traveling/cruising, etc and using these kits.

There could be no testing required anywhere in the country and there'd still be a testing requirement for a cruise.

the current plan is to really discuss if we want to go that route (I think we do, we did the Walgreens route for our other cruises, but with this one the proctored ones make sense) and to purchase about a month ahead of time.  There are 3 of us in one location, 2 in another, and 1 more in a 3rd... so picking out how many tests to get is also an annoying proposition.  Do we get 4 (for the 3 of us) or 3 for the set of 3 and 3 for the set of 2 so that we have a backup? Etc Etc Etc... these things aren't cheap!

 

Testing with the proctored tests will allow us to test at 7am on Saturday (cruise on Monday) so that we can know before our 10am flight.

I'm on a cruise leaving June 30th.  I'm just assuming we're going to have to test.

Do you have any of the free test kits from the government?   If you do here is a site that charges $20 to proctor any FDA approved test kit.

Other cruisers have used and were able to make their appts 2 weeks out.

There's no way cruises will stop testing while international flights to the US still test. I'd guess that it'll still be a while after they remove it from the fights that it goes away for cruises.
