We want to book something tomorrow on the celebrity Apex and was hoping someone here can provide some answers for the dining options. I know that they have four restaurants and you can eat at any one of them. So do you pick which one you want to go to during booking? Or is it assigned to you? Also today still have the anytime dining as well as the early and late dining?  If we do anytime dining, does that mean we can just pop into any of the four restaurant whenever there's availability on that day? What we normally do is we do anytime dining, but we still eat at a specific time at 5:30 or 6:00 and make reservations throughout at the same restaurant. We have never sailed the Apex edge class So don't know how it works. Like for example, if you're in early dining 5:30 does that mean you go to the same restaurant? But how do you go to a different one to try? If you want to or are you just stuck in that one restaurant?

The ability to eat at any restaurant. Is it only for the one to select anytime dining?

If you book early you should be able to select the restaurant  for traditional dining.   Later it is often assigned as the choices have run out.

Anytime dining you can go anytime but suggested you make a reservation for the time you want to avoid long wait times.    If you just show up you may be given a beeper and will be called when a table opens  up.   Reservations can be made in advance or using the ship while on the cruise.

All 4 menus are basically the same each evening (rotation) but has a couple menu items that are representative of the restaurant.   My understanding is you can order any of them at any of the restaurants.   You can view the menu's in the APP

Ok, so if you have assigned dining , you may be able to select which dining room, you want to eat at it ? I know they each have certain specials, but is one dining room better than the rest?  I am referring to the regular dining rooms on apex not luminae or blu as we are in regular balcony staterooms.

Thanks for the answers.  We just booked the transatlantic Nov on Apex for anytime.  My understanding from reading all the advise here is I will be able to make reservations for the 4 main dining rooms and able to move around.

Crazyplanningmom - I believe they meant that if you book traditional seating, you have the option to pick which one of the four for your dining preference if you book early, meaning let your TA know which one you like to be in, but you're pretty much stuck in that one.  And if you book late then perhaps the seating for the restaurant you prefer has filled up, so you will have no choice but to seat where they assign you, again I suspect you'll be placed in one restaurant for the entire cruise.   For Anytime dining you will have the option to go to either one of the 4.   But you will risk long waiting times if you didn't reserve advance.  Meanwhile you can pick the specialty items from any of the 4 restaurants while seated at any of the 4.

Correct me if I'm wrong above.

Does any know if the specialty items in the 4 restaurants changes as well like the main menu?

1.) You can choose any restaurant, they will usually all have the same menu if they're free restaurants

2.) You can pick the one you want to go to when you book, as well as the dining time.  Tell them you want the same table and with how many guests you want with you and they will take it from there

3) Yes, they do, they just added "My Time Dining" meaning you can pick a different restaurant every night, but you may not be guaranteed a table, depending on how many reservations they have

4.) Yes, you have the same restaurant

5.) Just tell your wait staff the night before that you'll be trying another restaurant the next night, but you will be back the night after

6.) No, you're not committed to eating in one restaurant, even with traditional dining.

We did 7 nights on Apex i February.  We ate three times in Tuscan and twice each in Normandie and Cosmoplitan.  They were all good.  I would happily eat in any of them again.  We were on any time dining and made our reservations for all three places our first afternoon on the ship.

Those are the same every day.

Just got off the Apex, 12 days, we had Anytime dining. Right now what everyone is describing seems to be true, maybe - kind of like the blind men and the elephant. This is what our experience was, who knows what it will be by late Oct.

The first 4 nights, we rotated around to each restaurant. We were never able to make reservations for any time other than 6-6:30 or 8-8:30. No times around 7 ever appeared on the app.

The first night we asked our waiter bout ordering the specialties from the other restaurants and he looked at me blankly. Not at all sure if he didn’t understand my words, or if he was new and didn’t have that bit of training, or if ordering from different dining room is possible.

After first 4 nights, we settled on a fav specialty menu and staff and told the maitre d’ that we were coming back every night and were happy with our table. Basically, from then on, they held that table for us. She booked reservations for us at about the same time ( we usually eat at the same time) excepting the one night we ate in Fine Cut. One of the last evenings I wanted to see what would happen if we pushed the time, so we showed up at about the magic hour of 7 pm. Answer is, nothing, our table was waiting for us. I still am unclear about the real need or function of reservations or how it is truly anytime if there’s a 90 minute period where reservations are never accepted, but somehow it works.
