If I order champagne and strawberries for embarkation day will the champagne be delivered chilled in an ice bucket?

Mine was and on a tray because the ice was melting and leaking from the plastic bucket.

I didnt order it but it came rhe first day after we were allowed into the cabins. I think they got my amenity gift wrong.

PS they also gave me 2 champagne glasses .. he had a whole cart of deliveries.

Hello,

If I ordered Champagne, I would expect it to be Champagne and not some anonymous white sparkling wine.

Similarly Prosecco - but that was like flogging a dead horse on Anthem for the last three weeks.

Hello,

Yes, but it is Champagne and not 'pretend'.

But isn't cruising all about pretend anyways?

Heck, I just want them to serve good 'pretend' vs. the swill they do serve. 🍾

I have never seen Champagne on a cruise ship.  There may be some stashed somewhere I just haven't seen it.  What I have seen is sparkling wine, most is terrible.  When I have wanted Champagne for a specific reason, I bring it with.  Steward has always been able to provide a bucket and glasses.

Sure, but they should still just call it sparkling wine if it's not champagne!

But this is a cruise line that calls what they sell at those auctions, "Art".

RCL's marketing and communications folks never attended the Joe Friday Communications Academy.  😉

I had Moet at Champagne Bar on Allure last month

Hello,

This is an 'omnibus' response as too many individual 'quotes' would look indulgent.

  • Both Cunard and MSC have real Champagne choices.
  • I agree that RCI can sell anything it wants providing it is sold as what it is and not as it is pretending to be. Though whether this not happening is the fault of the individual barman, his trainer or RCI is an open question. I will be having words with the F&B Manager on Anthem in September.
  • I think the 'swill' that they serve now as 'champagne' and 'prosecco' is a leftover from the days of unlimited 'happy-hour' Diamond Club sessions when sparkling lavatory cleaner was shipped-in by road tanker.

Regards,

Cublet
