COVID testing for boarding for Alaskan cruise

Today we received an email from Celebrity with respect to the boarding procedures. This email seemed to indicate Covid testing needed to be done at the port during boarding. We were under the impression that you can do the test within 48 hours of boarding as long as it was proctored.
We are Canadians boarding Alaskan cruise out of Vancouver this Sunday.

You only need to do the one test within 2 days (no longer worded as 48 hours). Only unvaccinated guests, who would only consist of children under 5 at this point, need the second test as the pier.

Without seeing exactly what you are referring to, it's imposible to determine its accuracy.

It's possible that the Canadian gov't may have decided to request that cruise passengers be tested before boarding (at the pier).  People are still developing Covid while on cruises despite arriving at the pier with a negative Covid test result.  Maybe they want a truer test indicator.

OP, please let us know if you did have to test at the pier in Vancouver.

The test can be done at anytime in the 2 days before boarding.  Probably easiest for you to use a couple of your free government approved Covid tests and virtual proctoring.  Suggest bringing a couple extras with you on board.

Yes we have a virtual appointment with Go Test Rapid for Fri with our free government tests. Thanks for clarification.

Have a bunch of the Canadian issued tests.

Does anyone have any information on options for having them proctored ?
There are no low price options on the west coast

We have an appointment with Go Test Rapide. Check out their website. Cost us $30 per person

You might want to check out Lifecenters.ca. They proctor tests and only charge $20 for the first person and $5 for each additional person up to 6 persons. Getting lots of good feedback on the Canadians board. And you can use the free tests from your local pharmacy.

This company does proctoring of your test for $20US.  They want US FDA approved tests but my guess is that anything Canada sent out should be ok.  They also sell tests, so if yours aren't acceptable you could buy them.  Would think any test you bought at Canadian pharmacy would also be ok.  Note that you do need to set up an appointment for each person.
