Mask update on Millennium

Anyone have a recent mask update on the Millennium?

I could be mistaken, but I thought it was required  in the theater and casino across the fleet

We are on the Millennium sailing on 8/5 out of Vancouver- then the Land Tour following- Any info is appreciated- please pass along- Thanks   Did you do the land tour portion also?

Onboard masking and masking locations are decided on individual ships and cruises by the captain- pending the COVID numbers on board.  Masking in ports is decided by local authorities.  Some ships have mask-free cruises and others have some restrictions.  You cannot really know in advance what will happen.

We were on the June 3 sailing out of Seward on Millie and masks were required in the theater and casino.

No...only the cruise.

Interesting article a day or two ago that Carnival's Princess and HAL lines were requiring mandatory FULL masking (other than in cabin/eating) on ALL their one-way alaskan cruises.  That's those traveling between Vancouver and Whittier, NOT the closed loop Seattle-to-Seattle cruises.

 

Will RCCL follow suit?  If so, Millie will definitely be the focus, given her itinerary.

I was on the 4/28 sailing on Anthem. Masks were optional onboard and in the private islands. On land, it was up to the authorities. Once in the terminal, they were mandatory.

Mask Policy

While onboard, masks are optional but highly recommended for unvaccinated guests.  Masks are also optional in the cruise terminal throughout boarding, screening and while disembarking, unless otherwise required by a local ordinance. We will notify guests at the terminal if masks are required.

We got off in Seward on Friday. Very few people were wearing masks. They were required for the theatre but that was not being enforced and plenty of people seemed to not bother or wear them dangling from one ear. We chose to wear ours in crowded areas.
