The Princess site is still a mess. It's been 3 days for me now. I can easily see availability/pricing/book a cabin on Polar (TA booking site) but can't get past cabin selection on the consumer site. As a TA I generally look at the consumer site first as it is far more searchable/user friendly than the booking engine. Once I narrow down the sailings, I then go into Polar...does no one at Princess realise this is a problem?

Live Chat just says the site is "being updated" and they have no information regarding when it will be fixed. Princess IT has always been bad but this is a new low even for them.

I'm impressed you can get through to live chat--when I've tried to it just spins for hours and hours. It's especially irritating because two cruises I have booked dropped in price on the Princess site, but I can't ask for an adjustment because the price doesn't show on any TA site. There were also two other cruise I might have sprung for if I'd been actually able to book them. On the positive side, Princess is the only cruise line (other than Carnival) that lets me search for solo fares easily, ranked by price, which helps me persevere with them, despite the frequent failings of their website and app.

You might want to check this site for solo deals. This is not a Travel Agency site.

Has anyone had any luck calling Princess to book cruises with THIS ^ error message?  There are two I've been trying to secure for days.  I'd love call my favorite TA, but I just HAVE to have control over my bookings.

My CVP did secure my booking on the Royal from San Francisco. She mentioned her supervisor secured the booking.  I wasn’t able to to chat with her as we missed each other yesterday so I don’t have any further information.  The crusie is listed in my account. It is a fantastic price, with a small deposit.

I did. I was still getting the error message above and called my assigned pvp (first time using her) who was able to book it for me.

 

milolii, I booked the Royal out of San Francisco too!

My CVP booked a coastal cruise out of LA for me but was not with the advertised fare that I saw on the website. Via email, she said she sent it to CR for protection.  I don't know what that means.

Thanks.  I called and they booked both cruises for me.  One fare was $20pp higher than online.  The other was $100pp higher.  But both are secured now.

I’m glad you’re booked. Mine was the same price as online, thankfully.

All I get for 3 days now. Since we are not allowed to see any information, we can't search book or look for fare reductions or cabin availability.   BTW, I did try a well known major website and for what I was looking for it showed no availability in this cabin category for every category and for every date I tried or guarantee only when it got to picking a cabin point.  So there is likely some tie there back to Princess' issues.

Still the same issues.  I wonder how many bookings Princess had lost and when the IT head would be fired...

I'm finally able to see everything again - completely cleared cookies, browsing history, etc (this has had no effect for the past 5 days or so but worked today - coincidence?)

I talked to my CVP this morning.  She said the pricing is wrong, hence the issues.  You can call and secure a booking, the price difference isn’t that much.  At least this was the case for me, my cruise is a great deal.
