Casino Table Game Minimum bets?

On the Sapphire in June and the roulette wheel added the 000.  i wasnt a frequent visitor, but the $25 blackjack table was not open when I went by (which was the only table with 'fair' odds for a blackjack).

Craps was also not open when I went in, but it had low odds bets (behind the pass line).

My travel partner played video blackjack and reported that the 'dealer' would miraculously pull the cards needed.  Like he would have a 20, and the dealer would start with a five, only to get a six and ten (meaning he would lose!)  He only played $30 worth, but that experience, and discussions with others in the elevators discouraged him from further play.

Yeah, both wheels on the Emerald had the '000", or Princess logo.  It's just as common now in LV as the 6:5 blackjack.  A lot of gamblers don't know the difference.

Does anyone know how much black jack play it takes to get on the casino cruise offers list?

Would 2 hours at $25 per hand black jack per day get you anything?  4 hours?

never had given it much of a passing thought, until we started getting offers. I had my butt planted in a seat so long it left an impression. I recon effort over time should do it. A couple of hours over a couple of day's should get their attention. And all the best luck, may your streak be endless.

endless winning? i won't hold my breath for that..

.i do know that with 3/2 bj and perfect basic strategy i can cut the house down to around .5% which i can live with if it results in some free/reduced cruise offers..of course basic strategy does not preclude you from going on short streaks and get up or down several hundred...would be sweet to play enough to get cruise offers and also WIN at the tables...again...i know if u play long enough you will LOSE unless you can beat math which millions have tried and none have done (or you are a very good card counter which i think all the cruises use continuous shuffle machines so good luck counting)

Stick with $ 6 minimum tables and apparently betting that level would pretty much have to spend the entire cruise to get enough points to get free or very reduced cost cruise.

Wow, I’ve never seen triple zero before🫢

Apparently they felt they needed a bigger advantage.

Yeah, both wheels on the Emerald last week had the triple zero -- actually it's the Princess logo -- in addition to the single and double zeros.  I didn't play roulette as intended b/c it was rather disconcerting....as was the 6/5 blackjack game.

More troubling was trying to find a seat at either the 3-Card or WPT Texas Hold'em tables.  They probably should dump the Let it Ride table and replace it with one of the these more popular games.

If enough people would stop playing b/j due to poor odds perhaps we could get a fairer game. However would not expect that to happen.

never see $6 table offer 3/2 blackjack...i do not play 6/5 blackjack and neither does any serious player that i am aware of...doesn't sound like a big deal but increases house edge substantially over 3/2

Shoot, I've doubled-down on a blackjack against a dealer's 5 instead of taking a 6/5 winning - at least at places you were allowed to when the play called for it.  Kind of stunned the dealer and pissed off the players at the table (I was at third base).

what % of casino players are serious gamblers? Some, of course - but aren't most just casual gamblers on a cruise ship with access to a casino they may not have back home?  Is a couple of hundred of dollars a night lost/won a 'serious gambler'? - how much in bets - not winning or losing - constitutes a serious gambler? - why would a 'serious gambler' waste time at a $6 blackjack table?

casinos love people who play for "fun" and go with "hunches"  and still play even when casinos come up with 6/5 blackjack rather than follow basic strategy....those players have paid for some beautiful casinos as there millions upon millions of them....blackjack is all about math like all other casino games.

for us, at least, going to the casino - if we can stand the smoke - is just a form of entertainment - like an excursion if you will...

not back in the day, way back - I funded a lot of gas and dates playing hearts and spades - and yes - both are about the 'math' to maximize the wins and minimize the losses

I'm going on the Crown in October. Are there any scouting reports on the craps action? (Minimum, pass line odds, hours of operation)

Thank you in advance for the information.

Nah, been this way for years.

Hi Patti.  I came across your older post about being able to book 3 cruises once you get a free offer. I got that and see it in the fine print however, some say it’s not true. I will phone princess soon but thought you may have some insight. Have you booked 3 cruises with one offer? Sadly I’m trying to book one now and all LA cruises are sold out so I guess I’m SOL for this freebie. 😞 Thank you in advance for answering me. Jan G (grado on CC) sjgrado at yahoo

I suspect this is more evidence of the whole staffing issue...

Actually, I think it is from lack of interest. They can open only one side of the table if they choose to do so. Sometimes late at night they cut back to only one side. On our TA last year the table was empty - very disappointing for me as I like to play after dinner and the shows.

I hope your on my upcoming Emerald Princess cruise in December.

Most craps players will help you - just don’t ask what happens if a 7 is rolled when standing next to the shooter - 😳

Sad to say true. The 5 dollar minimum at craps is just hard for me to pass up. Some casinos start at 10 and that’s getting hard to find. I normally say watch your hands about 25 times a night. When a casual roller uses a midnight dice set, I normally only bet the horn on their roll. You will see just about everything. It can get frustrating but it is entertainment.

Ha! So frustrating.  Play like a robot people, basic strategy...which, when you playing third base, gets some people puzzled, for example, when you hit a 2 against a 2.  Sorry, not sorry.

You and my DH would be fast friends. You are exactly the type of player with whom he enjoys playing Craps. He certainly has many stories to tell about some of the behavior he has witnessed by highly inexperienced, drunk, or even belligerent players over the year. As they say “it’s a crap shoot” but entertaining for sure! 🤣

Hopefully, we will play together at some point. My wife laughs as we walk around the ship random people call out my name. She looks at me and says “I know your fellow craps players”. 😎
