ewildcat7 Posted July 10, 2022 #1 Share Posted July 10, 2022 We are leaving on our cruise a week from tomorrow, so we are starting to think about what we want to pack. Is there a dress code for the MDR and/or the specialty restaurants? As we are going to Alaska, I don't plan on packing shorts, but is jeans and a t-shirt ok? Does it have to be slacks and a collared shirt?
Rare Crew News Posted July 10, 2022 #2 Share Posted July 10, 2022 (edited) Daily shipboard wear in Alaska is t-shirts, jeans, sweatshirts, and lots of flannel for chilly mornings. The MDR does not allow shorts, distressed jeans, or offensive t-shirts. Gala Nights require polo shirts and slacks for males. The latter is the normal attire for Specialty Restaurants, too. CruiserBruce Posted July 10, 2022 #3 Share Posted July 10, 2022 There is a dress code, but it's not tough. It's disheveled frequently, and explained on the website. Take a look around.

Great comment and basically what I follow. Of course, suits, tuxes and sport coats are often found (but not required) on Gala Nights and in specialty restaurants.
