Rare Ken the cruiser Posted July 10, 2022 #1 Share Posted July 10, 2022 We’re currently on the Princess Regal and up to now, as most of our cruises since the restart have been with Celebrity, my DW thought she could only get her hot chocolate made with whole milk. But, today, she discovered Princess offers a wide variety of milk substitutes when making her a cup of hot chocolate at the International Cafe, such as almond, rice, soy or lactose-free milk as well as whole or skim milk. Does Celebrity offer similar options at Cafe Al Bacio or just with whole milk?
dcbiker97 Posted July 10, 2022 #2 Share Posted July 10, 2022 (edited) On our Solstice cruise last month, the hot chocolate was made with a powder. If they have the milk available at Cafe al Bacio, there shouldn't be any reason they can't. Edited July 10, 2022 by dcbiker97
Arizona Wildcat Posted July 10, 2022 #3 Share Posted July 10, 2022 Yes- just ask what type of milk is available as it will vary. In the dining rooms likely only whole or 2%, but again ask. It always has been Nestlé pre covid and actually usually made by adding water. The powder contains milk powder.

They have always had at least almond and soy at Cafe al Bacio… I usually have almond, but remind them to shake the carton because it settles.
Rare PTC DAWG Posted July 10, 2022 #5 Share Posted July 10, 2022 Who milks the almonds? 🙂

Whom ever is milking them though, my DW is very appreciative of all their hard work as she very much enjoys almond milk! 😂
Rare bebe08 Posted July 10, 2022 #7 Share Posted July 10, 2022 You can definitely get almond milk at Al Bacio...I have had lattes made with it on the Eclipse last month. It is the regular kind though, not the unsweetened which I prefer. No complaints though just an FYI and may differ depending on the ship.
Rare Jim_Iain Posted July 10, 2022 #8 Share Posted July 10, 2022 At al Bacio they have Soy Milk, Almond Milk, Whole and Skim that I know of. I'm sure since they use powder they would make i with your preference as they do with coffee drinks.
TheWanderingViolet Posted July 11, 2022 #9 Share Posted July 11, 2022 Our Apex cruise offered cow milk, Lactose free cow milk, soy milk, and almond milk. The soy was pretty good. Had been hoping to see oat milk but they did not have it.
cruzzzinma Posted July 11, 2022 #10 Share Posted July 11, 2022 If you are dairy allergic (my husband) they can also make hot chocolate or hot coffee drinks with chocolate syrup (not the hot chocolate packets which are dairy based) and your milk of choice.
