Bed bugs on Connie

Just disembarked Constellation and we found a live bed bug in our bedding the first night. We trapped it and took a photo and were moved to a different room. Please check everything really well before you unpack! This is the first time this has happened to us travelling but of course it can happen anywhere. Praying we don’t take any “friends” home 😫

One bedbug experience for me in 2016. Bites emerged about a week later. This was in 2016 and was the 3rd travel fiasco that year: lost luggage for 3 weeks in Europe that included the British Isles cruise on the Silhouette, no water when we arrived home because credit card payment did not register, and finally bedbugs at Breaks Interstate Park between KY and VA.

Unfortunately people bring bedbugs on board in their clothes and on their luggage.  FWIW most bugs you see are not bed bugs as they are very very tiny.

Do a Google search.   Have had bugs in motel rooms - used to stay 40-60 nights a year.  "Bed bugs" only twice and both times in more upscale hotels.

Did you hear about the bed bug band?

They mostly play covers

Did you hear about the two bed bugs who met in the mattress?

They were married in the spring!

BOOM BOOM.................

Thanks a lot!!!   Coffee out the nose!!

June 21 2022 venice to rome

cabin 8166 bed bugs in sofa.
Did my surfing on couch, got eaten alive. switched to loveseat no problems.

pointed out to cabin steward.

Why didn't you contact the Hotel Manager?  This is an issue that needed to be brought directly to management attention.

How did you find it ? we always pull up the bottom covers and check out the mattress - but do you have a special light ?

Excellent post!  People associate bed bugs with low-end establishments, but bed bugs don't really care how much you paid for the room - they can, and will, show up in the best  establishments.   Also, they are rarely seen.  Infestations are usually detected by getting bitten or by traces left behind by the bed bugs (often called "dirt").  It is actually pretty difficult to identify a bed bug problem on a freshly made bed.

Had my only bout with them at a JW Marriott.  Was a XY little Muffes that the manager didn’t want to take ownership until I said I just wanted to advise and wanted nothing in return.
